2  Re: Let's see your sewing machine!! in Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions by Burningrubber on: November 12, 2008 11:07:32 PM
I know this is an old thread and I haven't gotten all the way through all the posts. Anyway I thought since everyone else was showing off their baby pictures, I would show my little odd ball too. I got her off of Freecycle. She runs really well. I had never heard of this brand before. Apparently the company makes vaccumes too.

3  Queen Cranky Pants Hat in Crochet: Completed Projects by Burningrubber on: October 19, 2008 12:53:25 PM
My roomate is curently going threw chemo and I wanted to make something fun for her. I saw The Museum of Kichy Stiches:http://stitchymcyarnpants.com/moks06/?p=256 and couldn't resist the beer can hats. I remember my mother making them when I was a kid. And I believe she actually sold them at a local bar too. LOL Anyway, as we don't drink beer, and I didn't think diet coke cans were all that fun and I have been saving Arizona iced tea cans with thoughts of someday making something from them. So without further adoo, the Queen Cranky Pants hat: This one is from the head shaving party. Her daughter is the one in the background giggling. Note the hotflash scepter. And a few chemo caps. I didn't use a pattern.

This first one is from last fall. I thought it might be an inspiration for someone with fall comming up again. It has Stardream cardstock as the background and instead of glass I used mica.

9  The long awaited Boobie ball: RE: Temari in Completed Projects by Burningrubber on: July 21, 2008 08:44:16 PM
I just finished making My roomates Temari ball. I call it a boobie ball because she just had a lumpectomy and wanted me to make a temari for her in pink for breast cancer and she also wanted red because she had a heart attack a few years back so I made her a boobie ball  Roll Eyes My version is....it looks like a boobie and the red "obi" is the incision. LOL

10  Temari Balls in Completed Projects by Burningrubber on: July 15, 2008 12:06:49 AM
I guess that is redundant since a Mari is a ball. That is Japanese thread ball for anyone who doesn't know. Anyway, here are my first three efforts. The paterns are from the book "Japanese Temari" by Barbara B. Suess. This is a great beginers book that I picked up at the library.
I tried one many years ago after seing it on Carole Duvall but It wouldn't register in my silly putty brain. When I spotted this book, I decided to give it a go.

I posted the pictures in order that they were made. Hope you like em :0)
