Another Gocco-portunity: napkins!

150 of these babies only took about an hour or so. Total cost: $9. Hooray for details!

You are a gocco-ing machine!!! Amazing!
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Your LYS vs. Big chain stores on: May 23, 2008 05:01:04 PM
My LYS is very crochet snobby. The owner constantly devalues crochet to me and tries to get me to learn to knit. They are very nasty and I would expect people who have a shop in Nyack to be a bit more openminded.

The only helpful thing they've done in a long while is hire one friendly staff member.

Also, they always give me a hard time when I want to wind a hank of yarn. After the first 2 times when they showed me I was able to do it myself but they act like I'm asking them to run a marathon.

While I prefer to support independant companies I cannot support a store that does not value their customer.

I will say though that out of all the LYS' I have been in Philly has the best and most supportive.

Nangellini and Rosies (?) are both really good.

I have to say that this is the most professional homemade purse I have ever seen. It truly is spectacular. You should be very impressed with yourself.

This is perfect. These would fly off the table at a craft fair. Just gorgeous.
5  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Re: Macaroni Grill Stuffed Portobella on: April 28, 2008 03:46:28 PM
\I spoon a teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce in the middle of each port.

It tastes like steak!

Just a heads up worcestershire sauce (though delicious) is not vegetarian. One of its ingredients is anchovies. I think you can get veg. ones at most health food stores.

However the recipe does sound delicious.

9  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Macaroni Grill Stuffed Portobella on: April 11, 2008 04:08:45 PM
The Macaroni Grill used to serve a stuffed portobella appetizer that was amazing. However, they took it off the menu a while ago but it is all I crave.

It had a portobella that was stuffed with bread crumbs, some type of green (spinach maybe?), and gooey cheese on top (blue cheese? or goat?)

Let me know if anyone has tasted this heavenly creation and has an idea of how to make it. OR if you just have a really good vegetarian stuffed port. recipe.
Thanks!
