11  Childish Desk to Grown-Up Faux Wood Chalkboard Craft Desk in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by andiemoon on: November 19, 2008 06:03:57 PM
My boyfriend's mother dropped off his old desk at our apartment the other day. I've been wanting a craft desk for a while so I was super excited about it, but it was so childish looking at it didn't go at all in our bedroom, so I busted out the sandpaper, acrylic paints, sculpey, etc. and got to work!

I also bought this awesome chalkboard paint for the top of it so I didn't ruin the top with little doodles and notes. Now I can jot down any future craft ideas or notes in chalk and wipe it off later.

And a close up of the painting and the knob:

I still need to make 2 more knobs, but there it is.

What do you all think?

12  Painted Zombie/Pulp Novel/Tarot Knife Holder! [img heavy] in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by andiemoon on: November 05, 2008 11:26:02 AM
I have been meaning to paint our knife holder ever since we moved, and I finally got around to it yesterday:

This is from Ben Templesmith's comic Wormwood: Gentleman Corpse

I used acrylics and then sprayed it with a sealer.

13  Beaded Amber Knit Bracelet in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by andiemoon on: November 02, 2008 04:34:53 PM
I'm starting my Christmas gift crafts early this year because last year I ended up running out of time. So here is my first gift for my Aunt.

I've never knit any jewelry before, but I think it came out well. I tried to make it a little earthy and a little fairy-ish.

14  Wheel of Time Aes Sedai Oroburous Ring in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by andiemoon on: October 27, 2008 06:39:24 PM
I just finished reading the first book in the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan and loved it. So, I made an Aes Sedai ring.

I made it out of sculpey and then painted over it with this Mirror Finish nail polish I found that is awesome (when it's on your nails you can actually see your reflection in it, although it's a little fuzzy looking).
