I knitted the Asherton Reversible Scarf {free pattern} for my husband's birthday but I was so pleased with the progress that I couldn't stop knitting it. And now the scarf's finished 3 months early!  But it's the start of Autumn here in Australia so he'll just get more use out of it, I guess.





I used Sublime Cashmere Merino Silk yarn for the first time and I'm in love with it! My husband is blown away by how soft and light the scarf is. Not thick and bulky like the other ribbed scarves I've made him. The pattern was so easy too. There are 44 rows repeat but it's really only 22 rows cos you do each row twice. I really love this scarf. It's the best one I've made so far!

I've made several heat pads and have finally figured out a way to sew sections into the pad without breaking the needle! I used the pattern from Martha Stewart's website and added the sections later.

How do you make your heat pads? What do you fill it with?

I made two Ellies - one handsewn using blanket stitch and the other whip stitch. It was an experiment to test out different stitches. I love the way they both turned out!

Begedil is basically mashed potato shaped into patties, coated with egg and fried. It's one of my all-time favourite comfort food. I was looking for a recipe on the internet and didn't find one I really liked so I made it up as I went. It turned out very yummy!

Isn't Little One a cutie? He is handsewn and embroidered. Took me an afternoon. Haha... It was more fiddly than I thought but he is worth it!
