Thanks guys! I'm glad you all liked it. I made the material myself, cause the checked matarial I found was really stiff, itchy, and kinda see-through. I've never used a pattern. To be completely honest I don't know how. I've always just taken my measurements and sewn pieces of material together.

Thanks for all the great feedback guys Smiley
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Harliquin Corset dress (pic pudgy) on: November 30, 2007 10:05:23 AM
I made this a couple months ago to go to a Birthday Massacre concert. I modeled it after a dress mentioned in their namesake song.

It's an underbust corset. I wore it with a black long sleeve shirt to the concert, but I can't find that shirt right now, so I tried to recreate the look(unsucessfully)

I took me two weeks to make. I cut out all the black and white squares and sewed them together.

It's reversable too. It's pinstripe on the other side Smiley

Anywhoo Let me know what ya think
6  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Nascar Blanket (My first quilt type thingy) on: November 30, 2007 09:50:56 AM
This is my first blanket/quilt/thingy

I made it for my little brother for Christmas. He loves nascar(Du Pont 24 is his favorite) So, when I saw this fabric I had to try.

The stiching around the squares and on the binding is yellow(though it looks kinda white in the pictures)

I attached fleece as the backing to the blanket and pillow case.

I made it in all machine washable materials, so it's easier on my stepmom. My little bro is a dirty little kid. Let me know what you think Smiley
