22  My Scissor bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by sunfilly on: July 25, 2009 12:39:53 PM
I made this bag to carry my scissors back and forth from work. I had the fabric (it was some old curtains)  I soaked the fabric it in hot water with washing soda and fabric softener. (I did not use any measurements for the washing soda or softener, I just eyeballed it when I put it in the bucket with the hot water, I did use boiling water and let the fabric sit for 1/2 hr) I then let it dry and ironed the fabric to freezer wax paper and printed the design from my computer, on my inkjet printer. After I printed it I let it sit for a while then ironed it some more to set the ink, then pulled it off the paper and ironed some more, then soaked it in water to see if  the ink came off. Most of it stayed as you can see, a few scissors washed a way but most of the dark ink stayed.

I used blue skid proof fabric to make it wider as I could only print on 8.5 x 11 and it was not wide enough for my scissors. I put batting inside to make it cushiony. I made a little pocket to hold my favorite hand needles and thimble. It closes with elastic. My daughter wants me to make a case for her hair cutting scissors.

24  purse made with unusual material in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by sunfilly on: July 25, 2009 10:47:25 AM
I was experimenting with the non skid rubber shelf lining. It comes in so many colors now. This one happens to be black with wool plaid. this purse is reversible as well. It also has the metal bracelet to make the handle structured.  it a bit difficult to sew, you need to put paper over the rubber when you sew it so it will go through the machine without sticking.

it looks better in person.

25  cute little bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by sunfilly on: July 25, 2009 10:37:05 AM
here is another bag I made for my daughter. it is small, but functional. the fabric is black Corduroy, and the handles are a bracelet size metal ring sandwiched in between the layers to give it structure on the handle. and of course the huge rik rak for decoration.

28  spiral scarf in Crochet: Completed Projects by sunfilly on: December 23, 2007 12:04:06 PM
I made this scarf for my youngest daughter for x-mas. I was trying to get her to pose for me with it but she has been so busy, I had a hard time getting a picture with her, hope these pictures look ok. The scarf is 72" long made of soft black and white acrylic yarn with black and white fancy fur on edge.

29  crochet hat and scarf in Crochet: Completed Projects by sunfilly on: December 22, 2007 03:16:02 PM
Hello I am new here and wanted to share my crochet. I was working on a scarf for my son-inlaw and my co-worker saw it and asked me to make him a scarf similar and hat to match. He bought the yarn and I made this set for him. The yarn is Lions brand wool yarn. He only likes natural fibers.

I hope you like it.
