Wow, I just got caught up on the gallery from way back at the crafty gurll bobby pins! Every single thing is wonderful! What a fun swap this has been.
Here are the incredible little goodies I got from the super talented Wendellina! Diminutive in size, but NOT in magnificence!
Everything was packed in this wicked cool cigar box - the box is like a whole present in itself! Resin pendants and bottle-cap thumbtacks, and some beaded felt squares on a necklace and some extras for charms:
close-up on the pendants:
those rainbow tacks are made from beads in resin, right off my wists!
And a second rainbow of beaded, felted jewels:
Wendellina is the best swap partner ever, period.
Thanks, Wendellina. And thanks to crafty gurll for organizing, she's pretty great too, right?
Here is Miss Purple Cake, safely returned home from her summer visit to Singmomma, and all of her loot she brought back with her:
Lots of little souvenirs from Canada (soap, washcloth, candy! ), some great pictures, a chunky-book style album, and a little purple suitcase with some new clothes and jewelry in it! She just loves jewelry! And there's even a beaded bracelet for me - I love jewelry too!
And here she is surveying her new goodies, and wearing her new tutu.
Thank you so much, Slingmomma! We love it all, and thanks for being such a wonderful swap partner.
Edit: AND there was some maple syrup in there too, which pretty much got kidnapped and run away with before I even got to take the pictures! We live in Vermont and you'd think my family was starved for maple syrup, jeezum crow!
And here is what I have received from the insanely generous and talented Wendellina!
First, all the loot: Just look at all those extras! coasters, beads, do-dads including fish!, wooden aplique's, sweet card, GLITTER, and my new Day of the Dead plastic bag holder drawstring bag, for my kitchen!
Here is a close up of the plastic bag holder. That is totally gonna match my kitchen!
And here is my new Uh.MAZE.ing beaded braclet. It weights down my arm and I totally love it. Love it!!
I love it ALL Wendellina, you simply rock AND roll as a craftster and a swap partner, and I'm off now to get crackalackin' on the next package because I have a tough act to follow here...
And here is the kit I recieved from the lovely and talented Wendellina:
It's all about embroidery! Cloths, and hoops, and floss....
and scissors, and needles, and special pens and paper....
and iron-on transfers in the themes of wine and flowers, both of which I absolutely love!
and a chunky book that she made(!) to hold all of this fantastic stuff (or most of it anyway)! Look at that beautiful L!
and inside it has pockets and felt needle pages, and lots of teensy plastic bags to put the flosses in. It's gonna be crazy chunky when I fill it all up.
And for her local color she sent me some fantastic special mustard, which I don't want to photograph because in the few days we've had it, it's been opened and used daily, and the bottle is all, you know, used looking, by people who live like animals and can't keep it wiped off nice. And by people I mean my husband of course, and I think he loves it so much he's drinking it or something.
Thank you Wendellina, this is the most fantastic kit I could have dreamed of recieving, I hope I can do it justice by making something nice with it.
Well, as promised here are the frame and album that Jess_aka_jalapeno sent to me.
The album has a flower close-up which I love, and I didn't count but I'm pretty sure she sent more than 24 prints.
And I just have to show you more of a close up on the frame, into which I put one of my favorites:
first of all, there is glitter in the center of that flower, and also, I don't know if you can see it in a picture of a picture, but the plant in the foreground of that photo just looks like it is jumping off the page at you, sort of 3-d style... If it's just me who sees it, that's ok I don't mind seeing things that way.
...and here is what the unbelievably talented quilter shout4Joy made for me!
Look at those butterflies - they are 3-d and actually "float" or flutter if you will, off the quilt. Ingenious. And please note the detailed swirly quilting which just blows me totally away. Their little bodies *are* the stitching which attaches them to the quilt.
It's nothing short of perfect, and I am so happy to have received such an amazing thing. Thank you again, Joy.
But she's very sturdy, as she has been bounced around a bit and survived unscathed. The picture is lousy but it can't be helped. She lives in a very dark place. She is looking forward to seeing the world! Starting with Ontario! Off to pack her up now! I'm so excited I feel like I'm the one going off on a journey.
