1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Do you have Clap envy?? on: October 14, 2007 05:40:10 PM
I used to... Grin But I took the prescribed pattern and yarn and this is what I have now:

I started it about 2 weeks ago and could not put it down. It made with malabrigo worsted pinot and it is so soft and cuddly. I love it and even though its only been in the seventies here in FL I still wear it in the AM and anytime I think I might be chilly. I love it!

2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Baby Blanket & Kenobi Jacket on: October 07, 2007 02:59:50 PM
This is the first time I've ever posted an FO so I hope I do it right.

The first one is a blanket I made from a pattern on Knitty.com a year ago for my neice. She still carries it around with her everywhere.

The other one is the Kenobi Jacket from Spring 07 Knitscene. I loved the pattern but evidently I don't really understand size. Its way too big for me even with  length and width modifications.  I'm giving it to my mom for Christmas cause it fits her perfect. Sorry no pics of me wearing it...trust me, its way too big.

*edit*
My husband said the pic I have of the jacket doesn't do it justice....so here is a couple of me wearing it.

3  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Raw wool conundrum on: October 01, 2007 05:40:45 PM
I have 9 or so lbs of raw wool someone gave to me a couple months ago. I tried cleaning it several different ways and only a small portion came out soft a pretty the rest looked all coarse and I think I felted it. I don't know what to do with it. I don't have enough money to buy the supplies to card it and I don't know how to spin and I've just generally bewildered by it. It is a pretty big mess. Lots of veg. matter and enough poo that my closet smells a little funny (although that could just be the sheep smell). I don't even know how to tell if the fibers are long enough to spin.

Could I give it away on here? I don't really know protocol and I read all the help info. The truth is I don't have the time or inclination to figure it out solo. And there is no local spinning.... or sheep for that matter....Florida tends to be that way. Any suggestions?
