1  fabric sketchbook cover with pocket in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by craftcore on: March 17, 2009 11:19:57 AM
I wanted to make a fabric cover for a small sketch book and it turned into this:

back cover: (it looks a bit strange with the needles behind it)

front, closed with button:

front with pencil in pocket:

It was made while improvising, without tutorial, only using the sketch book to measure. It has a pocket for a pen or pencil so it's easy to take anywhere.

4  anarcha-feminist flag in Completed Projects by craftcore on: October 19, 2008 08:01:37 AM
i've done some waving with this one already on demos:

it's completely hand-sewn, i didn't have a decent sewing-machine yet when i made it.

5  guitar pick buttons in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by craftcore on: October 19, 2008 07:50:14 AM
i've seen ear rings made of guitar picks (plectrums) but i don't wear ear rings so that why i used them for buttons/badges (and also to play guitar):

these are all a bit anarcha-queer-feminist themed

6  Re: Let's see your sewing machine!! in Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions by craftcore on: October 19, 2008 07:38:12 AM
Here is mine: a Janome QC 6260:

It's quite new and i'm very happy with how easy it is to use to sew and all the options it has! i used my mom's very cheap sewing machine before and it was very annoying because it couldn't sew through a lot of fabric and it was hard to regulate its speed and all.

i keep the cardboard box of my own sewing machine in my bedroom so i always wake up wanting to sew something (but not really knowing what).

7  embroidered graffiti in Needlework: Completed Projects by craftcore on: October 19, 2008 07:30:07 AM
I'm calling these embroidered graffiti because I picture them hanging on walls outdoors, sort of like art actions...

9  menstruation cloth pads tutorial in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by craftcore on: October 19, 2008 06:25:03 AM
I like that there's so much interest in sewing pads here!

Here is a tutorial I made a little while ago:

i hope it's a bit clear...
The measurements are in centimeters and probably could be altered, depending on your underwear and all...

I'm mostly using pads made from bath cloth fabric now (store bought  Embarrassed ) because they don't leak easily. they don't have any "protective" layer and don't need it. i use thinner self-made cotton fabric pads for low flow days. i usually rinse them after use, then machine wash. it's easy, you don't have to worry about running to the store to buy new pads.
i just need to make a wet bag now...
