1  First ever marshmellow fondant!! in Dessert by Holliewood on: March 23, 2009 01:25:23 PM
I just found this pic from last July, of my very first ever attempt at marshmellow fondant.  It's a birthday cake for my cousin's 14 year old stepdaughter.

I gotta say the fondant was not nearly as intimidating as I was making it out to be, and it actually tasted good too.  When I try it again I will roll it a little thinner though, this ended up being a healthy quarter of an inch thick.  Roll Eyes

Oh and if anyone is wondering (the pic I have of it after we demolished half of it is terribly blurry) the inside is a double layer of homemade vanilla cake with cheesecake flavored buttercream.  Yum!

I received from waterbaby today!! She chose my farm animals, trees AND sewing themes!!  Shocked

The whole shebang!

The thread catcher she just whipped up, with no pattern by the way, out of the cutest bamboo (it's actually grass) lookin fabric!  Love this! I've been wanting one of these!!! Grin

Top of the tin, the cow is transfered onto poly clay and the rest of the outside and inside is covered with green art paper.

A close up of the little tree, needle holder she made!!

And last but CERTAINLY not least is a close up of the domino tree pendant she made.  That tree is hand drawn on there!! How awesome is that?

Thanks so much for a great tin Sandy!!!

I received a wonderful package from purpleone today.  And it had to come all the way over the 'big pond' I'm so excited!!!  She claimed me for Sublime Stitching patterns, casette tapes, buttons and keyboard keys.

There are two tapes, a bunch of buttons and keyboard keys, and three Sublime patterns (Flower Power, Olde Alphabet, and Swanky Decor) and as if that wasn't enough she threw in some minisharpies and some lovely little buttons of the London subway routes (so cool)!!

Thanks so much Bea!!!   Grin

Reads: I'm really messy.
It's embarassing.  I fee like people judge me by the state of my car and room, but I'm sure my family only knows the extent.

Reads: I send him sexy pictures of me so that I don't loose him to HER...
