1  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Watercolor painting I just made on: July 09, 2014 04:52:42 PM

I made this a few weeks back. I really love pop surrealism. That's my sort of style, I guess. I love when things don't make sense, both in my poetry and my art.
Haven't been on here in a few years! Nice to be back. Hope you all like it.
2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Swap a Stack of Cards on: January 23, 2011 05:26:34 AM
I know there probably has already been one, but I need to stock up on my cards for swapping and stuff!
I was thinking we could make 10 cards with envelopes for our partner, and maybe include a set of handmade embellishments?
what do you think?
3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Coffee Swap/\the Great Hot Drink Swap on: October 27, 2010 08:26:40 AM
anyone up for swapping?

I was thinking two bags of locally made gourmet coffee and a small 2 point crafty treat, like some yarn, or stitch markers, or earrings or something.
Maybe a mug, too.
anyone?
4  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Hand Carved Stamps, round 4 on: October 25, 2010 11:54:45 AM
anyone up for it? I was thinking it'd be fun. I missed out on the first three rounds.
How do you guys feel about having a hand carved stamp swap? Maybe have two partners, and make a set of two or three for each partner?
What do you think?

5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Two Pairs of Earrings on: October 15, 2010 12:50:24 PM
JUST for me! Only for me! I've been in so many swaps lately that it was nice to make something just for me!

The frida is from a pair of earrings I got in a swap that weren't my style. So I reclaimed them.

And this pair, I'm not sure about.

7  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Mixed Media Beeswax Tags on: September 17, 2010 04:48:37 PM
So these are for a swap on swapbot. I gave one, and kept one.
I used beeswax for the first time on mixed media. It was fun!

8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Frida Necklace on: September 17, 2010 04:32:42 PM
A necklace for a friend. That is of course, before my daughter got a hold of it, making me have to restring the thing again.
hehe. kids.

This pendant made from paper and cardboard and things. And glitter. of course.

9  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / An Altoid Fairy Queen on: September 17, 2010 04:25:34 PM
I made this for a swap. Her name is Hera. She's a fairy. A NYC fairy, to be exact. I only know this, because the back of her is covered up with a Metrocard (it's what you use here to get on the subway).
I had to cover up all the gluey parts on the back.

and the inside. That's the Altoid part. I used mismatched earrings and things to decorate it, as well as Fantasy fiber there on the back.
I added the buddha, even tho I don't know how my partner feels about it. Really, I couldn't help myself.

And her head. The feathers are from my jewelry supply stash. Actually, it's from a junk swap on swap-bot. I swear, those are the best swaps!

Well, what do you think?

I LOVE LOVE LOVE wearing and making jewelry, don't you? So then, I got to thinking...why not have a jewelry swap?
We'll have one partner, and make a "lot" of 10 jewelry pieces for our partner, along with a pretty container to put it in! Get a wooden box and decorate it to your partner's liking, thus making a little "trunk" for the handmade jewelry!
And to inspire our partner to keep it going, buy your partner a bag of beads or something! Buy your partner some sort of supply that they use a lot of, and that doesn't cost you too much! No more than $10 though, so you don't go broke! You just want to replenish their stash with something they'll tell you they need!

As far as jewelry is concerned, what you make will be according to your partners wishes! It could be all earrings, or a mix of things!
Fun, right?
Stock up on your jewelry with this fun swap!
Remember: swaps are meant to be fun and lighthearted. Please do not sign up if you foresee complications in the future. It's not fun to have flakes in a swap, so don't be a naughty swapper.
