1  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Help finding a good granny square pattern! on: August 17, 2008 03:06:02 PM
I want to make an item composed of granny squares that will be lined with a very lovely fabric, and I want to showcase the fabric through the granny square as much as possible.  Does anyone know of a good square pattern that would be open enough to show the fabric?

Thanks!

2  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Discussion and Questions / ISO pattern or help for Carolina amigurumi on: July 10, 2008 09:10:25 AM
Does anyone know if there is a pattern or can otherwise help me design an amigurumi of the Carolina Tarheels Ram mascot?  I have only been crocheting for a month, so I don't think I can design him myself.

Thanks!!

3  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / My First Amigurumi! on: July 08, 2008 06:52:46 PM
So I've finished my first little amigurumi turtles...they are the second thing I've ever crocheted.  I've knitted for years, but never did pick up crochet until about a month ago and it just clicked!  These guys are fun, they have a personality!

4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Finishing Wood in a non-toxic way on: December 02, 2007 02:04:10 PM
Hello all
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to finish wood painted with acrylics in a safe and non-toxic way as to make it safe to eat on and wash?

Thanks!

5  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / 1st Wood Burning Project on: November 25, 2007 04:38:29 PM
I've never posted a finished project before...I hope this is the right forum for wood burning.  The first picture is of the Celtic Horse that I did for practice, and the second picture is my finished project, a Celtic Knotwork frame.  I don't like the 4 knots in the corners, which is why I haven't finished it with any stain and sealant.  But otherwise, it was a lot of fun.

Hope you like!

6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Need help designing/understanding pouch on: September 25, 2007 04:37:30 PM
Please help!

I desperately need to knit a small drawstring pouch with flames on it.  I have never made any sort of bag before (although I can knit!).  I would like to felt it, and the finished dimensions be approximately 4" x 5" (size not set in stone).  Can someone point me to a pattern or tell me the best way to construct?  I think I may be able to manage figuring a graph for the flames after I figure how many stitches (unless someone has something ready-made for an item this small).  I tried doing this on my own, but I did it with circular needles which were impossible and I ended up giving up, and I just have no idea as far as size of needles, number of stitches, etc.  I am using medium weight wool.

Any help would be great!
