8  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / i'm spinning for 3 days - a photo love story ;) on: April 07, 2008 10:00:20 AM
saturday morning the postman brought me a fluffy parcel and that was the beginning of a spinning love story:

the starter kit with a drop spindle and 200g roving (corriedale)

the first try - and not too sure about the whole thing

setting in the twist of the green yarn and starting the second skein. i'm starting to develop a serious crush on this white yarn. it's so soft and i'm getting better in drafting steadily

happy end. my first skeins of handspun yarn. i'm so happy and am looking forward to a lot more great projects with my drop spindle

and they lived happily ever after...  Grin

10  FIBER ARTS / Dyeing: Completed Projects / my first hand-dyed sock yarn on: February 25, 2008 01:03:31 AM
i wanted to try it for ages and yesterday i finally did it: hand-dyed my first sock yarn with easter egg colour... it was much more difficult than i thought to get a smooth colourway.
i'm really curious to see how it will look in sock form. Grin but i'll have to be patient because i need to do two other pairs of socks before i can give this yarn a go Undecided

what do you think?!
