Still haven't gotten the dye yet, but am getting around to it soon. Wanting a peachy tan shade, mostly.

Thanks guys!

I would say this is just an infinity dress, wrapped a particular way. I'd make a version with wide straps or have it made...lots of these dresses on etsy.com. It's about 5 yards of fabric, but you'll have a lot of waste. Maybe more for the long version. Also, most sellers of these sell you a tube top for underneath for about 3 bucks. I'd look for the cheapest price maker of these and if it's too steep, just find a simple infinity pattern online. To line it, you just make a second skirt part and put the two inside faces together and sew them together at the top before you put the waistband on. The tube top should eliminate the need for lining the straps, but if you need to, just cut two of each strap and sew them together on all sides but the waist side. Turn them inside out and attach to the waist with the waistband and lining.

Good luck on this one!

kellianneeee - thanks for the idea. I tried tea a long time ago and had trouble with a kind of gray look that was probably more from the water where I was. It would be worth trying again in a new place. thanks!

Thanks Margaret

I've been at etsy and several of the others for several years now and they have been great. I do appreciate that I'm asking a lot. With all the changes and problems at etsy, I'm finding I want something more suited to what I do. I don't mind paying a bit more commission/fees, as long as it's free to list or very cheap. I don't mind supporting a good site, but it takes time to sell wedding and formal dresses, and the relisting fees add up really quickly. I also had wordpress and a free cart, but wp isn't secure enough on private hosting to carry a cart, imo. I'll play around with continuing the free carts on my blogs for now and hope a similar shopping site to etsy pops up. Thanks so much for your input. I just think if I need this, someone else out there is feeling a similar need...so there's a market for it. I like to hope for things that would be good to have! Smiley
