Two days before Christmas my son married his longtime girlfriend so my best present this year is a new daughter and a 10 year old granddaughter.  We spent Christmas Eve reviving a tradition that we had when our son was young.  I baked the gingerbread the day before and everyone helped put the house together and decorate it.  What a wonderful night we had.
 The house is over a foot high and completely gingerbread, royal icing and candy. It came out much bigger than I intended and weighed about 10 lbs.  The day after Christmas the neighborhood kids all joined in to help demolish it.
