11  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Wanting to make a skirt like this... on: May 03, 2008 03:21:01 AM
I absolutely love this skirt and really want to make one like it. I'm not a good enough sewer that I can figure out how to make it on my own so I'm wondering if anyone could give me some tips or if anyone knows if there is a pattern or tutorial around that I could use?

12  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Another Mohawk hat on: January 21, 2008 08:45:31 PM
I finally knitted the mohawk hat from Pretty in Punk. I didn't have the correct wool so I had to double the wool up but after felting you can't tell. I knitted it for my sister who is modelling it in the photos.

The photos don't show the colour too well - it's more of a bright pink.
13  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Knitted Birthday Card (slightly pic heavy) on: January 21, 2008 08:40:22 PM
My friend and I always try to make really crazy/elaborate birthday cards for each other and so for her 21st birthday I decided to knit an entire birthday card!
Here is the front (in case you can't read it it says "Happy 21st Ruth")

Here is the inside: the left side has loose strings where I tied in a cd I made for her and the right side has a pocket for a letter - the skull pattern came from here:http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=12636.0

And here is the back

For all the photos I printed them on to iron on transfer paper and ironed them onto fabric which I sewed in.
I'm super proud of how it turned out.
14  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Question about stretching knitted pieces on: January 21, 2008 05:05:05 PM
I hope this makes sense:
So I've just finished knitting a shawl but i want to stretch it so that it is bigger and the stitches are seperated but I'm not sure if I should weave in the ends before or after stretching it. I'm worried that if i weave the ends in first, that when I stretch it the ends will pop out. Any advice?
15  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / How to make the cuffs/wristbands on the end of sleeves? on: September 27, 2007 11:09:00 PM
Hi all, I'm new to posting here (have been perusing though for quite some time) and have a question I was hoping someone could answer: How do you make the wristband/cuff bits (not sure what they are actually called) that you find on the ends of sleeves of hoodies and jackets (like on a Pink Ladies jacket)? Is it smaller than the end of the sleeve? What sort of fabric is best?
Hope this question makes sense, sorry for the lack of technical names!
