1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Holiday table place cards? on: December 20, 2004 05:53:33 PM
I could use some inspiration from you always inspired crafters.  I need to make some place cards for our Xmas table (the things that tell people where to sit).  I wanted to do something a bit different than just a plain paper card, but I cannot come up with any simple but beautiful ideas.  (Must be my fuzzy cold-infected brain!)  The only thought I had was to write people's names on some glass ball ornaments, but I have no way to get to a store to buy them between now and Xmas so that's not going to work.  I need to work with what I have around my house and I don't really have the time for anything overly complicated.  Does anyone have ideas?  Is anyone else making place cards?

Thank you so much for your help!
2  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Recipes for homemade liquor? on: December 06, 2004 07:55:43 PM
Do you all know recipes for any homemade liquors?  I've seen recipes recently for homemade Kahlua, and I know about infused vodka, but there are more homemade recipes! I'd like to make some for gifts.  Thanks!
3  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Camp cooking on: August 11, 2004 03:17:08 PM
Hi all.  I've been reading everyone's great posts, but never posted myself!  Now I need some advice.

My husband and I are going on a brief camping trip soon and we are NOT experienced campers.  We desperately need some very basic advice about cooking while camping.  We'll be in a national park (car camping, no backpacking!) where we'll have a fire pit.  What sort of equipment do we need?  What sort of foods would be simple for an inexperienced camp chef to make?  What does everyone else like to eat while camping?  Do you have any recommendations for sites or books that address the basics (like we probably need help with everything from building a proper fire to cleaning up afterwards)?

Thank you in advance for your ideas!
