11  Tuxedo Dress ! in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by goofipinay on: April 11, 2009 03:49:11 PM
I'm in orchestra, and all we got to wear in middle school were tuxedo shirts
I had this lying around (I had already used it for "pirate day" in school, but now I thought, let's cut it !)

All the white is from the tuxedo shirt... I used the pintucked and the buttoned part of the shirt ^_^
The black is from an old black dress (I would've used my orchestra dress now, but I still have to wear it !)

12  we like threadless shirts turned dresses, right ? in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by goofipinay on: March 30, 2009 09:16:27 AM
My friends are gettin into Threadless like it's a new thing (to be "different")
Us craftsters know that it's not new!

So to show em what different really is,
One MUST convert a threadless tee into something, right? =]

Yay @ my paint skills !

Yea, yea, I HAD to use a pun.... xD

I opened up the sleeves to make em go over and around as my new sleeves !
I was so lazy, I made sure I kept the serged edges clean so I could use em as the "hemmed" edges
Hahah xD

13  I'm lovin me some smurf tights! in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by goofipinay on: March 03, 2009 01:44:44 PM
Got your attention?
I bought the tights, but I didn't know how to wear em without looking random.
Then I decided...it didn't matter, whatever, I love em !
So here's what I wore with em:

Thrift store shopping again, there was a $1 sale ! =D

So I started making this from a men's shirt (it was UGLY that way, but anyway...)
It was supposed to be a top, but I messed up my scalloping, so I cut that off and it turned into a skirt !

I just realized I look extremely tan in the pic ! =O

This one, was just like my other tunic from this thread
The only difference is that it's purple !

14  Ee I found argyle! and (what's a recon without a men's shirt?) in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by goofipinay on: February 07, 2009 05:44:47 PM
I love my thrift store
I told my cousin (who also comes with me) that we're making it a weekly thing =]
I don't know why I sucked at reconstructing before...I completely skipped that step and went to learning how to make patterns and what not. Then last week, I got lazy and decided to try *again* with my [better than last yr] kinda skills on this =]

Large Men's shirt ($2)

2 Yards of Yellow & Black argyle fabric ($2)

*suck it in, suck it in....SMILE!*

15  Ninjavasion purses! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by goofipinay on: February 01, 2009 05:02:35 PM
Wo0t =]
I haven't made a purse for...maybe 2 months, and I think I might have to make more!

Forgive the information,

I love this one, it's freakin perfect (to me, haha)

Didn't like this one much...

Mmm, my friend begged me for a huge purse, so out came this:

This one had pockets all in it, plus a zipper on the ninja, yeaaa
You know, it's funny...I had zippered pocket yellow, and I actually changed it to purple, cause I didn't want the zipper to reveal naked ninja!
Weird, I know  Wink

16  Zebra print, eeee =] in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by goofipinay on: January 30, 2009 04:22:19 PM
I'm not one to like animal prints..
I've never worn it, nor have I really seen it much around here (hmm...)

BUT, this has to be one of my FAVORITE things I made =] watch out, etsy!

It ties at the shoulder... and there's a zipper on the side so you can get in it x)

You can still see the blue tape where I was workin on how I wanted it to look...

And of course,
A pic of me, haha =]

17  Zippers = Failure [loads of pics!] vest, tops, and a dress I designed! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by goofipinay on: January 18, 2009 02:23:06 PM
So, I got a dressform for Christmas Smiley
Ever since then, I stopped drafting my own patterns and just worked ON the dressform  Cheesy

So I started workin on a vest.... I was SUPPOSED to have a zipper....And it was supposed to look enitrely different! But stupid me, I forgot about how much space zippers take...And that suede doesn't like to be sewn too many times at one spot!
Which made me take out a 3" O-ring and made a faux belt to attach and close the vest!

So I stopped trying to work with zippers for a while...And thought! Ooooh maybe I can be a Rami and drape!
(Nope, things didn't even drape as much as I wanted them to....)

But then I got awesome fabric from Canada (ordered from etsy!)
And I got workin on a design I thought of yesterday...

I used "Artist's Tape for Curves"  Wink

But I forgot that things are mirrored when I sew and flip it right-side out!
I worked on the dress for about 2 hours..And then I worked on the zipper for ANOTHER 2 hours  Angry I suck!

It needs to be hemmed,...

I couldn't find any obnoxiously large buttons around the house...
So my mom went out...but she could only find two medium sized ones...

I wanna finally post something on etsy...is that dress worthy?

18  I <3 Butterflies = Shirts in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by goofipinay on: November 25, 2008 04:25:10 PM
I disappeared, but I've come back (to post!) haha =]

I like half sleeves...Are these called that?
Because 3/4 sleeves annoy me and there's a bajillion short sleeves around xD
It's cotton knit fabric, so it's really comfy...and I think they're called "faux shrugs" (I like to call it a peek-a-boo shirt!)
OH! The button looks stupid. I redid it after the picture was taken;
My friend wanted it as a small/medium instead of a large, so I got the chance of darting that top section (where the button is)

No sleeves! (I have issues with sleeves, I guess that's why I was lazy on this one)
The triangle keyhole looks slightly crooked, but it's not! (I forgot to fix it on my cousin, who didn't want her face to show)
It's a turtleneck...but it's kinda loose (so it drapes like a cowl??);
I wanna make it a little tighter, but I dunno...I have some big-headed friends  Wink

everyone says that the V formed on the back doesn't look great, so...yay or nay?
