1  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Baby Blankie Madness!!! on: January 23, 2009 04:06:04 PM
Well, not really madness... Stripey blanket in double crochet with a shell border, for a coworker's impending bundle of joy. None of her relatives are crafty, and every little baby needs a handmade blanket. She loved it!

Up Close!

Whole blankie!!! (I swear it is actually rectangular! I don't know why the side looks funny.)
2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / French Bulldog Necklace on: April 29, 2008 04:52:34 PM
My friend Susan asked me to make a shrinky dink for her, but didn't have any idea what she wanted it to be of. I decided to make one of her puppy dog, Macy May. Macy is usually reeeeally adorable, but she looks crazy in this one picture, so I naturally decided to base it off of that pic!  Smiley

Here's a picture of her dog with its CRAZY smile.

3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Necklaces: Birds and Bunnies! on: March 04, 2008 01:51:06 PM
I've been on a jewelry kick lately. Here are three necklaces I just finished! (Pics are a little blurry.. Sorry!)

Here's a bunny with a carrot a la shrinky dink

An owl with some wood beads

And a bird's nest!

4  COOKING / Dessert / "You Suck" Cake on: November 25, 2007 02:37:00 PM
My best friend who lives far away and I have a tradition of always making funfetti cake when the other one visits... I love to go overboard with frosting and couldn't think of what to write on it, so I just wrote "You Suck" because he sucks for having to go home... And its funny to have a sprinkle-y cake that says something mean!

5  FIBER ARTS / Dyeing: Completed Projects / Batik portrait on: November 04, 2007 07:46:36 PM
I just finished my first large scale batik project! I stretched it out for displaying... It is HUGE (44" x 32"). I probably spent the better part of four hours ironing the all wax out! I wish I hadn't crackled it quite so much... I think she looks kinda demonic, but I'll take it. Cheesy

6  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Wet Felted Color Wheel on: September 30, 2007 04:52:36 PM
I'm in a textiles class at school and we've been working on felting. We had to do a color wheel completely from scratch. I even had to dye my wool and then optically blend the colors for the wheel, not to mention felt the whole thing.

Just for reference, here are the colors that I dyed to start with:

7  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Needle Felted Swallow on: September 21, 2007 05:41:32 PM
Hi everyone!

I'm brand new to felting-- I'm taking a textiles class right now. I needle felted this today as one of the little samples we have to make.

One question: I got an assortment of needles. How do you know which size to use on what?
