451  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / SOME Valentine's day Ideas!! on: January 20, 2008 12:12:56 PM
I was searching the web for some Ideas and thought I would share some of the things I found...

mail out your card to Loveland, Colorado for extra special treatment. Your card will be postmarked LOVEland, Colorado and it will also be hand-stamped with a unique four line poem.

Its simple. Just enclose your pre-addressed, pre-stamped Valentines card in a larger envelope and mail to: Postmaster, Attn: Valentines, Loveland CO 80537

here is a link with more information about that

Crayon Hearts
http://images.marthastewart.com/images/content/web/goodthings/gt076_crayheart01_l.jpg

Begin with a 12-by-16-inch sheet of waxed paper. Fold it in half along its length; unfold. Deposit wax-crayon shavings (made with a handheld pencil sharpener) evenly but not thickly across one half of the paper. Fold the clean half of the paper over the shavings. Crimp the three open edges with a 1/2-inch fold to hold the shavings. Protect your ironing surface with kraft paper. Place the waxed paper on the kraft paper, and cover it with another sheet of kraft paper. Iron lightly on medium heat, checking after every few passes. Stop when all the shavings have melted; let cool. Next, trace and cut out hearts of various sizes. String each heart with a silk thread for hanging.

12 DAYS OF ROMANCE
This year I decided to be a little creative and yet try to save a little money while doing something special for Valentine's. I am going to do the 12 Days of Valentine's. Starting 11 days before Valentine's, I will leave little gifts for my loved one to find.

Day 1 - one balloon that says "I Love You";
Day 2 - two coupons for various special favors or treats;
Day 3 - three love songs, some taped and some written words, that mean something special to us;
Day 4 - four love poems, I found on a postcard site and hand written;
Day 5 - five terms of endearment;
Day 6 - six chocolate candy hearts;
Day 7 - seven flowers;
Day 8 - eight heart shaped cookies;
Day 9 - nine message heart candies;
Day 10 - ten reasons (of the millions) why I love him;
Day 11 - eleven Hershey's hugs and kisses;
Day 12 (Valentine's) - twelve ways to say "I Love You", languages.

I found this idea that someone posted on theromantic.comand I really liked it because I want to do something similar, I think I will do February of romance because I want to do something special each day not just for Valentine's day but alson on the 22nd is our wedding aniversary and on the 27th is our son's birthday.. so yeah February is a special month for us.... well I hope this helpes someone..

This is the first bag I have ever made so I'm pretty exited...

I'm a volunteer (am also there to learn knitting not just helping) at a knitting class for 3rd and 4rd graders, and the teacher is also a kindergarden teacher, she was my son's  teacher last year. One day in class she was talking about  not having a bag to carry around her knitting things, so when I went to good will looking for some t-shirts and saw the Teachers are special one for $1.25 I just had to get it and make her a tote bag for her knitting...

I used this tutorial to make the bag

I've crochet before but never stuffed toys.. this is my first one..
thanks to http://www.rheatheylia.com for the pattern...

I made this for my niece, and now my son wants one too, he loves stuffed toys so pretty soon I'll be working on a new one that I might use the colors like the one on the movie the last mimzy, just to make it look kind of like the one in the movie..

thanks for looking  Smiley
