This is the love beads quilt from the Modern Quilt Workshop book.  Its a birthday present for my sister, and I love the look, but this really challenged my ability!  Took me ages longer than it should have, but I'm really happy with it now that its done.

This is a quilt that I made for my cousins baby, from a panel and the coordinating fabric.  I love this book, and the fabric is fantastic.  Using a panel is such an easy way to make a quilt, and my cousin loved it

This is a very simple quilt made from one and a bit charm packs of Nest by Tula Pink for Moda.  I really like this fabric, especially framed by the white, which I think sets it off nicely.  I tossed up doing a pieced border, but decided that which would be nicer, and I'm glad I went with the white.  The back is plain white also.  There are a couple of squares that blend a bit too much into the white, but otherwise I quite like it.  This is to be gifted to a friend for her house warming.

I bought the asymmetric reversible jacket pattern from Kitschycoo.  I loved this pattern!  It was so easy, and had handy hints is useful places, as well as lots of colour photos.  I made the 18M/2T version, and the only thing I found that didn't make sense on the pattern was the fabric requirements.  It said two yards of the shell fabric and the lining fabric, but I had a metre of both (I'm in NZ and we work in metric), and there was more than enough.  I made it in a cute canvas type fabric with adorable mushrooms, and a blue cotton with weird splodges on it.  I made this with a boy in mind, who will be about 18 months round christmas (handy!) but I'm a bit worried that it looks a bit girly.

These are some quilts that I've made for my local hospital for the Neonatal intensive care unit.  They like to use quilts on the babies so that it looks a bit more friendly.  They supply batting, and they can supply fabric, but for these I had fabric in my stash that I used.  I like the idea that these quilts will be used for people that really need them, and I hope that it goes a small way towards comforting parents at what is a super stressful time.

Here is a quilt that I made as a Christmas gift for my partners mum, she really liked it so that was cool!



I used a layer cake of Moda Portobello Market, which was so convienient, and it went together really quickly

I love the look of pieced backs, and tried to go for a framed look, but somehow in the basting process it got a bit off centre, but by the time I realised there was so way I was going to go back and fix it.

I did this quilt as a quilt-a-long from Amanda Jean at http://crazymomquilts.blogspot.com/2008/02/finishing-your-quilt-top-part-2.html  I didn't do it at the time she put it up but it probably took me about as long.

I skipped the last border cos there was just no way I was going piece that many squares. 



I was also really proud that I did this whole quilt from my stash, including a thrifted woollen blanket as the batting.  Here is the back

This is my latest quilt, its really simple but I love it.  Its 12 fat quarters from my green and blue stash (my stash is pretty embarrasingly large), with a cotton/linen blend sashing.  I used a pieced binding from the off-cuts of the fat quarters.  For the backing I used a cream flannel sheet, for extra coziness

I free-motion quilted it, which was a bit of a struggle, since its about 60"x80".  Here is a close up of some of the quillting

Here is a ducky quilt that I made from a kit from connecting threads.  Its my first proper go at applique, and the big bits were ok, but wow those beaks were a pain!

I quite like it except for the left most block on the second row which is a bit bold
