1  Re: 2009 Holiday Handmade Crusade :: Formerly the "All Year Christmas Craft-a-long" in Craftalongs by jammin kitty on: January 31, 2009 07:31:10 PM
This is the one ornament that I got done during a very busy time.  It is a dove from a vintage McCall's pattern of my mother's.  It was very simple to do and I plan to make more from the same fabric.  This was the first time I had done something this small and made a French knot that really worked!!  I will attach ribbon to hang it from the tree but couldn't find the gold ribbon I thought I had.      It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!!  Now what will we do in February??

2  Taggies for a Cowboy and a Princess in Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies by jammin kitty on: July 03, 2008 12:32:58 PM
This is my first post and I am so excited!!  These are two taggies that I have made to sell to a couple of friends for baby shower gifts.  The first is one where the mom is using a cowboy theme for her baby boy's nursery.

The front is a Michael Miller print which I tried to match with the ribbons.
The back is dotted minky chenille for snuggling.
The other taggie is pink dotted minky and backed with satin charmuise.  This stuff slips and slides everywhere!!!  But I just love the pink for a baby girl.

These are pretty simple to make unless you are not thinking and sew the ribbons on backwards..... Shocked  After recently retiring I've come back to sewing after many years of not doing it at all.  Hopefully I can continue to do these and make some $$ as well as enjoy a new hobby.
