1  Re: 2008 Color Craft-A-Long in Craftalongs by mariposaluna on: February 18, 2008 11:26:06 AM
Yea! I have something to post!
I made the tampon holder from this thread:

I love it! It was so easy to make. I'm going to make more for Christmas gifts.

I'm doing this craft-a-long to try making the things I see here on Craftster but have been afraid to try. To that end, my January submission wasn't finished in time to post but its in my gallery.

2  Quilted ball ornament in Winter Holidays by mariposaluna on: November 08, 2007 12:33:34 PM

I just made this yesterday and finished it up today. I really love it and it looks so professional. My daughter saw it yesterday and said she almost thought it was store bought except it still had the messy edges. Here it is finished:

That's the prettier side.

I tried to center a fussy cut piece into it but I think the print was too large or I should have spread the points out further.

For the band I sewed one of the fabrics into a tube and glued it on instead of a ribbon.

The only this this pattern does not tell you is that I estimated it took about 160 flat head pins just to do one ball. By the time I put on the third row of pins I needed to use a thimble because my finger hurt from pushing them in. One 2.5 inch X 44 inch wide strip each of 3 colors is all the fabric you need to do both sides. They also get surprisingly heavy. I'm going to make as many more as I can  Grin
