1  My Little Angels in Winter Holidays by Mellelady on: December 17, 2007 06:00:24 PM
Merry Christmas!  These angels are built around my little boys' footprints.  I'm going to put a picture of the boys together in the middle and give it to their grandparents for Christmas.

2  I Covered Wood with Polymer in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by Mellelady on: December 13, 2007 05:31:37 PM
I picked up this shadow box at the Salvation Army for 25 cents.  Then it sat untouched for a few months until I was inspired to cover it with polymer clay.  Here it is in my oven.  I'll probably paint it red and put a cute family picture in it.

3  *Popsicle Stick Snowflakes* in Winter Holidays by Mellelady on: December 11, 2007 01:28:42 PM
Made these for my son's preschool group then the kids decorated them with buttons.  I think they turned out cute!
Made with 3 regular sized Popsicle sticks and 6 half sized Popsicle craft sticks cut in half at an angle.  I drilled a hole with my drill for the ribbon.  Then I spray painted them white then glued them together, holding them in place with clothes pins.

4  Preschool Opposites Lesson Snack in Recipes and Cooking Tips by Mellelady on: December 11, 2007 01:17:06 PM
Just wanted to share these treats!  Penguins and Zebras you can eat!  They were so fun to make for the preschool kids' opposites lesson.  They are both black and white and the zebras are sweet and the penguins are salty!
Penguins are made from small and jumbo olives, carrots and stuffed with cream cheese.  The zebras are made of rice crispy treats, painted with white chocolate and striped with semisweet chocolate.  I just melted chocolate chips.
Sorry, this picture is a little blurry

5  **Super Wonder Capes!** in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Mellelady on: December 11, 2007 12:59:39 PM
I hope this is the right place to post this  Wink.

As a kid, I had a reversible Superman/Batman cape and (even being a girl) I loved it.  Well, now I have a three year old little boy who is full of imagination and energy so I decided to make a reversible cape for him.  I happened to be in "cape making mode" when his little friend next door brought an invitation to his space themed birthday party so I went ahead and made him a cape too.  Here they are.

My son's (not modeled since its a Christmas present) is Superman and Wonder Pets (his current obsession)

And his friend's is Superman and Space Man?

6  First shot at polymer...beads in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by Mellelady on: October 12, 2007 10:40:58 AM
I just added a better picture that isn't so blurry Smiley
These are my first polymer beads ever!  My sister just came to visit and got me hooked on the stuff.  I made the canes used for all the round beads.  I think I may varnish the "lampwork" beads to make them look more like glass.
This is so much fun!  What do you think?

7  Re: Amazing kid's shirts, check this out! in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by Mellelady on: October 12, 2007 09:52:39 AM
I love the frog sis, it turned out awesome!
I thought I'd post mine too!  We actually made these together and had so much fun.  (Although  I have to admit, my sister's look better than mine.)  My turtle pattern is opposite of jenihall's.

Here's another tutorial...this is actually the one that gave me the idea to try these.

8  Re: Show off your cake decorating skills! in Dessert by Mellelady on: September 20, 2007 12:53:11 PM
I just joined craftster and I'm so excited to have found such a cool site.
Here are some cakes I've made.  I hope the pictures come up, I'm still learning.

I made this ukulele cake for my son's first birthday.  Just used a guitar cake pan.

I made these car cakes for my son's second birthday.  Used two bread pans and did some cutting to create the shape.

I made this present cake for my son's third birthday.  Just your typical round cake pans.  I used rolled fondant for the bow.  I should have let the pieces dry longer, they were having trouble keeping their shape.
