1  KNITTING / Knitalongs / 5 hour baby sweater ( Quick xmas gift ) on: December 02, 2008 03:37:30 AM
I have been looking for a quick baby sweater to knit as gifts for several babies this christmas and i found this http://www.woolworks.org/patterns/5-hour.txt  It fits the bill since it only takes 5 hours (Apparently).  Or NOT.  The pattern is written in a very strange way so my plan was to do the first part which is straight forward then try to work the rest out at the time.  But i am also rubbish at lace knitting and so have frogged the whole lot twice already as i had some mysterious holes where ther should be none!!! Would anyone like to join me and see if we can work it out together???
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / 'Roam' poncho by Rowan on: October 23, 2008 12:49:38 PM

It's a poncho called 'Roam' from Rowan knitting magazine number 40.  It took me ages even though it's in biggy wool (Super Chunky) because it's the first real cable garment i've done but it's by far the best and most wearable item i've ever knit and i love it.  So glad it's getting cold now so i can wear it!!!!  Grin
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Help..xmas pressies for my boyf. Ideas??? on: September 30, 2008 12:08:14 PM
Me and boyf agreed to spend 50 on each other this year (I start early) for xmas, so i booked us some flights to visit friends in Ireland.  Unfortunately this is my whole budget gone (and more!) so i wanna make him some things to open xmas day with materials i already have.  I have TONS of wool all different types, some material, buttons and other notions.  He's really into Mountain Biking and Climbing so was thinking about a knitted chalk bag with some sort of a monster face on it....Anyone any ideas on this or any other things to make?  Would really like a good mans beanie hat pattern in dk or worsted if anyone knows one...
