22  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Help..xmas pressies for my boyf. Ideas??? on: September 30, 2008 12:08:14 PM
Me and boyf agreed to spend 50 on each other this year (I start early) for xmas, so i booked us some flights to visit friends in Ireland.  Unfortunately this is my whole budget gone (and more!) so i wanna make him some things to open xmas day with materials i already have.  I have TONS of wool all different types, some material, buttons and other notions.  He's really into Mountain Biking and Climbing so was thinking about a knitted chalk bag with some sort of a monster face on it....Anyone any ideas on this or any other things to make?  Would really like a good mans beanie hat pattern in dk or worsted if anyone knows one...

myklia, the daughters came from linda P.   Although that colour is so vivid in real life.  Almost day glow, not muted greens and blues like on my photo!!!

i found this link with images of the finished product  http://home.att.net/~susanBinKC/gdgalry.html  and now i'm not sure if i can add large squares as it'll muck up the rows....hmmm...

woo hoo  Grin i just finished my 80 to send out.  Have been looking at my crochet squares book though and have pretty much decided that i'm going to make about 10ish large crochet blocks to place randomly in amongst the grannies daughters in my blanket.  Gonna make em really fancy so they stand out.  That should keep me going till my daughters arrive in the post.  Also i was having trouble understanding the instructions for joining but in the back of my book: 200 crochet blocks by Jan Eaton, it has colour photos and it was much clearer so if anyone has that book, and is unsure of what to do, they should have a look Smiley
