I know you've nearly finished but i definately think if can get the book, i'll have a go at this.  I have a load of other projects on the go but the detail on those squares are lovely.  I've done an afghan before but just using grannie squares.  Really gonna try get this book Smiley

Now i'm intrigued.  I never heard of Barbara or tried knitting from top down.  Heck i've only just started using circular needles (Us English girls like our straight pins!) but i think all these pics look great.  Also i hate sewing up at the end and it looks like there's less to do in this method.  Am gonna try source her book and have a good read  Cheesy

It's a poncho called 'Roam' from Rowan knitting magazine number 40.  It took me ages even though it's in biggy wool (Super Chunky) because it's the first real cable garment i've done but it's by far the best and most wearable item i've ever knit and i love it.  So glad it's getting cold now so i can wear it!!!!  Grin

I didn't even consider the size of the centre hole in the one's i made so long as they were the right overall size.  I haven't had no complaints so i shouldn't worry if i were you hon Smiley
