1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: First Clothing Piece - Summer Dress (but for Christmas..) on: July 17, 2009 09:50:03 AM
i know how you feel.  This is the first ever dress i ever made too.  I could not get the gathering even under the bust so added darts instead which made even more problems, and all this after a one day workshop on how to sew on a machine i've had in my cupboard for years and never used.
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Simplicity 2884 dress + tulle on: July 17, 2009 09:45:40 AM
this was the first dress i ever made and i just couldn't get the gathering under the bust even on both sides....then i put darts instead and made myself a whole host more problems lol.  Yours looks great though Smiley
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Re: Yet another "52" reasons book (img obese) on: February 10, 2009 02:13:00 AM
Question:  I made all the cards and they look great but how do you get the holes lined up?  The hole punch i have is too wide, i need holes closer together but if i just guess then the cards won't have holes in exactly the same place.  Hmm what did you do?
4  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: 5 hour baby sweater ( Quick xmas gift ) on: December 05, 2008 01:49:39 AM
cheers, i kinda managed a rough thing and it worked out ok except it's a cardi not a sweater and is knit from the collar down.  Did not know this which added to confusion.  Gonna re do but maybe i'll try your version.  Thanks Smiley
5  KNITTING / Knitalongs / 5 hour baby sweater ( Quick xmas gift ) on: December 02, 2008 03:37:30 AM
I have been looking for a quick baby sweater to knit as gifts for several babies this christmas and i found this http://www.woolworks.org/patterns/5-hour.txt  It fits the bill since it only takes 5 hours (Apparently).  Or NOT.  The pattern is written in a very strange way so my plan was to do the first part which is straight forward then try to work the rest out at the time.  But i am also rubbish at lace knitting and so have frogged the whole lot twice already as i had some mysterious holes where ther should be none!!! Would anyone like to join me and see if we can work it out together???
6  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Witch/Wicca/Pagan Swap Round 9 (sign ups closed, send Dec 22) on: November 10, 2008 12:05:32 PM
I'd really like to join this but i'm moving house this month and don't know if i have the time.  Plus i have only done one other swap which didn't involve small, large items etc... so could someone give me a guide as to what a small, medium, and large item would be then i can decide if i have time to join.  Cheers Smiley
7  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Granny Daughters Swap Gallery on: November 04, 2008 09:57:38 AM
Does anyone know what they're doing with theirs yet?  Or even better, has anyone started doing anything with theirs yet?
8  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: GRANNIES DAUGHTERS CROCHET SWAP R1 (CLOSED) Sendout-10/13/08 on: October 30, 2008 01:01:25 PM
Hey i have a link for you all: http://www.classiceliteyarns.com/WebLetter/62/Issue62.php  If you still have bits of yarn left from this swap, i thought these would be great for the xmas tree and would use up those odd balls.  So i thought i'd share with you all.   Actually though i just checked and the pattern says you need 100g of yarn!!! Surely not.  That must be for a whole string of them.  Enjoy x
9  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: WINTER IN A WEEK SWAP (SIGNUP 10/28- 11/2; MAIL BY 11/10) on: October 30, 2008 12:57:19 PM

10  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: 'Roam' poncho by Rowan on: October 24, 2008 10:18:13 AM
lol to be honest i stay away from poncho's too but the girl modelling looked so lovely and rustic so i thought i'd have a go.  I do like it and it's VERY warm.  Does anyone know how to block 100 % wool as the edges curl but i don't wanna shrink it.  Think it looks a younger style because of the hood.  Goes nice with my skinny jeans and uggs  Cheesy
