So I love all the shawl patterns out there, but I am a jeans and t-shirt kind of lady. I don't really do 'girly'. My normal day is an old navy t-shirt and a pair of jeans with Crocs or Docs.

What do you wear with a pretty lacy shawl? Do you wear them as an every day sort of thing, or only when you dress up? I am having a hard time visualizing myself wearing one, but I really want one.

I originally started this hat for my mum, but I am not sure if she'll be into it. She's more a white oxford shirt lady than a funky rainbow stripe lady. I used Paton's Classic Merino (Natural Mix) and  Noro Silk Garden (279). This was the first time I have used circular needles  successfully, I just used a 16 in. no. 7 as God intended. I figured I'd give it a go before I tried magic loop or 2 circs. I loved it, but I wasn't too thrilled when I had to switch back to DPNs because I realized my no. 7's were otherwise occupied in a beret I am knitting, so I finished up the crown on no. 6's.

Pixie hat for me: Not-So-Bulky Golden Compass hat, tweedle dee yarn.

I did this hat for my daughter from the Not-So-Bulky Golden Compass hood pattern. She hates it and won't wear it, but its cute! It's moda dea tweedle dee yarn.

I've started a zillion knitted projects over the past two years and ripped all of them, save for one very ugly dishcloth. I am excited that I finally finished something. There are a couple rough spots, but overall I am happy with it. I cast on 84 or 88 with size 10 needles in Shetland Chunky Tweeds and only did 10 rows instead of 15.





Originally I was planning on gifting it to my best friend for her birthday.... but... well. I'll have to make her another one because I am attached to this one.

This one is for me. I am working on a matching one for my daughter along w/ a pair of mittens.





The second one is the first of many Christmas gifts I am working on. I almost dont want to give it up because purple is my favorite color and I really love how it turned out.

In honor of Monday night, I give you "The Symbol" from Heroes in wire and czeck glass beads. It is a pendant and I am still trying to figure out what I want to put it on I've never done much with wire, so if I did it "wrong" I'm not too worried LOL

I used this tutorial for inspiration and basic directions, however I didn't follow the pattern. I made them in DC instead of hdc and with only one strand, so obviously I had to modify for gauge and fit. I also love how I put the seams in different places *facepalm*.

They are made from Paton's SWS yarn in Natural Earth color. I really love working with this yarn, it is so silky. I was pretty peeved to get within three rows of finished and have to break into my second skein of yarn. If my feet were a size 8 instead of 11, I wouldn't have had to do that *grumble*.

I am just curious if 100% wool sock yarn (ie knitpicks peruvian wool) felts when you wear it as a sock. It's not superwash, so wouldn't it felt? TIA for any explanations

This is my first Cable project and my second actual project all together (my first was granny's favorite washcloth lol). I cast on one last night and I am planning on making two or three total. So far I've just done the first cable twist. My gauge is off by about 2 stitches, but I'm not super worried about it.

Anyone up for this? This first one is in Sky Blue I'll have pics when I get through another twist :-D
