1  Re: Blythe Doll - Holiday theme swap Round 2 in The Swap Gallery by SewPixie on: March 06, 2008 07:22:38 PM
Oh yay! Elsie looks so pretty.

And I *finally* uploaded photos of the fan-freaking-tastic goodies that Knit_North sent to my little Nobby. Ohmygosh!

First...Nobby went nuts when she tried on her hat and long cardigan.

Look how sweet! The hat and cardigan are so well made and the little red hearts are so perfect.

And she is not sharing.  Cheesy

Thank you so much!

My newest little dolly girl, a Rainy Day Parade, will be participating in this swap. Her name is Zenobia but she goes by Nobby (she is named after a Wodehouse character)

Thank you thank you for posting this..I finally did get some baby socks at the $1 Store to try this. So neat to have such a cute top for 50 cents.

Rather than start a new thread I thought I'd just post my latest here. These are from vintage Skipper patterns. Gah I need to work on my gathering skills.  Smiley

These two are dresses I made for the Holiday Blythe Swap.

5  Fabric Ledger Binder in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by SewPixie on: December 16, 2007 02:49:41 PM
I was debating exactly where this belonged...it is made of fabric and sewn but is made to hold paper as a binder/book.

Long ago I purchased some loose-leaf ledger paper. Not sure why exactly, I assume it was on clearance. I have a fondness for random paper I think from when my dad would bring home stuff from work. Since nowadays at my work everything is on the computer (hurrah for not having to use to much paper) I get a bit nostalgic for green bar paper and old ledgers. Anyways, when I started my little Etsy shop I started to use the paper to write down my lists and keep track of sent/received, etc. I work in IT so sometimes I just like to be 'old school' and physically write things down. I have been meaning to purchase or make a binder to keep it in. The sheets are larger than letter size but not quite as large as legal size so I was having trouble finding a binder.

Now take into account the bolt of double-sided fusible still interfacing I bought long ago when I was making cube cabanas. What the heck can I use that stuff for?! I made two rectangles to size and fused on an old sheet (we had this print when I was a kid and had to pick it up at Goodwill). I sewed on some wide bias binding, added eyelets and rings to hold the whole thing together. Ta-da binder for my little pocket-money enterprise. Had I thought more about it I would have embroidered the front before fusing so I think I will create an Iron-On to create a label.

Everything was from my stash. I keep telling people I am slowly moving the craft stores to my sewing room.  Cheesy Sometimes it feels good to find a reason for some random thing you acquired and claimed that 'someday I'll need it'.

Awwww what cute gifties these girls are receiving!

The package from KittyVegas arrived while I was on vacation so Nora came home to a present in the mail. Bobbie was off with a friend so they waited to open until tonight when they were both home.  Grin

Both: Yay presents for us!

Bobbie: This owl dress is so soft and comfortable! And my new owlie is the bestest.

Nora: I am so fashionable in my new dress and hat. This dark shade of burgundy really goes well with my hair.

Thank you KittyVegas!  Grin

I really need a picture with better lighting but wanted to at least post something until I can get one.

PinFish spoiled the girls! She made them the darling quilt they are sitting on, the pillows (and she gave them extra fabric so they can finally have sheets and things for their beds. She also made them a raster poster (hehe 'big' poster but doll size..hehehe) and gave them some stiped socks (which Bobbie is wearing off camera. Thank you!

10  Re: Sandwich keeper in Completed Projects by SewPixie on: October 08, 2007 08:30:29 PM
I know this is an old thread but I went to make my lunch last night and felt bad about grabbing a baggie (ok I may have also been wanting to do something quick and crafty). I knew Craftster would have something so I look up sandwich wrap and found this thread. Here is mine!
