I've been busy making tops from the Afternoon Tea Top pattern on BurdaStyle (http://www.burdastyle.com/patterns/show/3899).

Here's a couple (I've deviated a bit from the pattern as I wanted straps and I've put some decorative buttons on):





And I realised it would be quite cute and easily modifiable to make into a dress:

This is my first attempt at designing my own dress pattern. I quite like how it's turned out:





I used the skirt method from this tutorial http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=118888.0 and I just drew out the top part as I thought it should be onto some greaseproof paper. I completely forgot to add in a seam allowance, so I ended up having to put in a couple of panels at the back, but I actually think they look quite good. I think next time I attempt something like this I'll put a bit more thought into the placing of darts as I didn't really get them right.
