1  "Fiesta Wear!" necklace in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by whitebelt on: December 04, 2008 07:59:59 AM
I made this with black agate and glass for the base. The colored beads are agates, dyed howlite, and glass. My fave flowers are pressed glass with black Swarovski crystals for centers. There's a total of 6 strands.
Try really hard to ignore my gigantic face.  Tongue

Anyways, I miss Texas and this was a little cure for some homesickness I've been feeling.

2  Mucha bisque tissue box in Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects by whitebelt on: November 17, 2008 12:00:45 PM
This was for a swap but my partner had a baby and is MIA. Many months have passed so I figured it was safe to post the pictures of my item sent. I haven't glazed since I was in middle school.

I need practice but I'm still rather happy with the shading I attempted. Although I made a boo-boo on a color in the background.

3  Blue Helix (Shell, Pearl, Seed Beads) in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by whitebelt on: May 26, 2008 10:15:20 AM
I took a class at the local bead store from my friend. This is a variation on the fringe or caterpillar bracelet and is fun to make.  Cheesy
I think this might be in the latest Australian magazine of "Beads Etc..."
The seed beads are a "bead soup" that happened when my craftmate fell and my seed beads went EVERYWHERE! Luckily, the colors that popped open actually went well together.

4  Summer Melons Chillin' On Ice in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by whitebelt on: May 23, 2008 11:49:46 AM
yeah, i fell for the summer colors because i tend to always make things in autumn colors.
AND i have noticed that it is really hard to get decent watermelon in montana. i used to live in texas and delicious watermelon was preg_replace('/(.{19})/', '$1 ', 'everywhere...sigh...')

anyways, this necklace has:

yellow jade (cantalope)
calcite (cantalope)
prehinite (honeydew)
rose 'quartz' (watermelon)
peridot (honeydew)
moonstone (ice)
and miyuki seed beads

i made some earrings but i haven't finished them because i've been unable to find rose 'quartz' in the size and shape i want.

5  METROPOLIS (film) inspired necklaces in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by whitebelt on: May 23, 2008 11:23:52 AM
I took apart a long necklace of silver plated snake rope from the 1980's or so. I've the necklace for awhile. I don't have a before picture. But it always reminded me of the Art Deco era especially the European styles.
So, I'm calling them the Metropolis Necklaces. It's a movie from 1927 and it is amazingly ahead of it's time.

I'm thinking of making a differnt S hook from this. Something more simple.
I used Jasper stones with this one.

Black Onyx and Sponge Coral.

they're pretty chunky necklaces.
but i like them, they're kinda funkay.
