15  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / any ideas for using plastic water bottles (the 16 oz size)? on: April 06, 2008 01:46:49 PM
I have some of those plastic water bottles (the bottled water kind), and I was wondering if there are any good craft ideas that would use 1 per person (for a group of girls).  I might have enough for two per kid, if necessary.

Oh, and by the way, I don't normally buy bottled water like this - I saved them though because I thought I might able to use them for a project.  Maybe something like this?

I just don't want it to get too complicated (for girls about age 8-11).
16  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: how to take up jeans and keep original hem on: April 06, 2008 01:41:19 PM
This is definitely better than making your own hem on jeans!  It's barely noticable.  The only problem I've found is that sometimes it will turn inside out (showing the seam) or the extra material will hang lower than the hem.
17  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Lotta Jansdotter sunhat ideas for modifying it... on: April 06, 2008 01:33:20 PM
I really want to make a hat, but after seeing what they could look like on google, I decided that this is not what I'm looking for.  I've looked some, but are there any good (and free) bucket hat-style patterns on the web?  Or is there a good way to modify it so it's not so much like a sunhat?

Definitely awesome!  I agree that it's especially neat that they fold up!

I think I'd even like the tatting by itself!
