1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Magic Yarn Ball Round 14 Gallery on: December 24, 2010 11:03:20 AM
Finally getting a chance to upload and post my great yarn ball from knitpurl!  Sorry that I have been out of touch lately, life has taken a turn for the insane, but I am here now  Cheesy.

My computer somehow ate the photo I took of the ball all wrapped up, so you will have to use your imaginations.

I was completely spoiled with a huge folder of patterns.  I think I'm going to use the yarn knitpurl sent to make either the waffle ones or the criss-crossy lace, and save the others for some other yarn I have hanging around

the yarn, a yummy merino in a mossy green-and-brown.

More yarn (she says it's just scraps but I actually really like this one, too  Smiley), a tiny notebook I've started using to record my rows and stitches, floss holders, a jasmine-scented candle, heart-shaped decal, and adorable heart-shaped stitch markers.  I thought it was cute that we both sent heart-shaped markers.
a chocolate, koala-shaped candies (cute!), incense, and some little star stickers

a fabric-covered badge, herbal tea, a cute little skully/palm felt key fob, a really neat woven bookmark from a women's co-op.  You can't really see them but there is also a yarn needle and a cabling needle in here somewhere.

enameled day of the dead magnets that are already all over my fridge, a knitted hat with another badge, a soap cozy with lemon myrtle soap inside, and my favourite--little skull doilies!  I love these and would love to learn how to make some myself.

Wanted to get in a shot of the packaging bits--the ribbon is really pretty and i loved the little ceramic dangly guys!

Thank you so much for being such a great swap partner!  I like everything tons and it is all cozily tucked away for after-Christmas crafting.  This swap was a ton of fun, can't wait for the next round.

A quick apology for being a naughty swapper and not posting photos yet.  Have been working really late the last week and a half but hopefully things will slow down and I will post in the next couple days!

I received today from knitpurl!!  I will post photos later, but let me just say that my haul involves skull-shaped doilies and I love it all!

sorry i am tardy to the thread, but knitpurl, i am so glad it got to you relatively intact and that you like everything!  the iron was a last-minute impulse and i realized later it's probably the wrong-shaped plug for you, but it was just so tiny and cute!!

Finally got a chance to post the bloomers I received from tattooedcrafter on Friday!

They are so soft and cozy--pardon the flashburn on my legs though.

Thanks so much!

Got home about 11:30 pm last night and found all sorts of goodies lying in wait for me!  I've tried to include lots of photos that show the packaging--it's obvious Karrie spent some time and thought on the wrappings because they are all adorable and came through the mail still looking great!

My package from whats_her_name:

First off, a letter from Professor Neville Longbottom, explaining the contents of the package, which was created in honor of my Take a Muggle to School Day visit!

Wearable:
Cute Ravenclaw shirt from the Hogwarts House Muggle clothing shop.  The back says "Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure"

And Luna sent me some dirigible plum earrings from her shop!

Edible:
I received a delectable assortment from Honeydukes, including lemon sherbets, chocolate frogs, fudge flies, Botts Everyflavour Beans and a packet of pumpkin juice mix!  So far I have only made it into the flies--and they are really yummy and really hilariously detailed, as flies go.  Cheesy

Game:
This might be my very favourite thing I recieved---Muggle-style word searches from Hermione!  She sent enough for my friends to do one, too.  It will be something good to do while waiting for previews to begin Cheesy.

And bonus photo of my dog wearing the ribbon from my Honeydukes package

Thanks so much, Karrie!  It was great swapping with you and I love everything.  Can't wait to sit down and work at my word searches while wearing my earrings and eating some frogs  Cheesy

Have a crafting binge planned for this afternoon to wrap up some bits and bobs I've been working on!

Well after the reaction of others, I am even more excited to see my package from Karrie Smiley My roommate sent me a sneak peak from her webcam last night and I have to say I already LOVE the wearable.  I will post pictures ASAP when I get home Thursday night or Friday morning.
Everyone's packages are so well thought out--I am way impressed by the caliber of crafting!
