11  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Embroidered vintage denim shirt on: November 10, 2009 07:14:13 PM

Grin I have this vintage denim shirt that I keep adding (vintage) patches and massive amounts of embroidery...and is a major w.i.p. A friend of mine decided that she needed one that was similar, but wayyyyy toned down from mine. Since she's a bit of a Harley girl, and loves hearts & flowers (come on - who doesn't Wink) - this is what I came up with..

12  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects / Hand printed/stamped hankies on: April 09, 2009 05:42:48 PM
Wink Awhile ago, ArtmamaJen posted her lovely dress that she made with acrylic stamps - at the same time, I had done the exact same thing (I found a shop in Etsy that sold fabric stamp pads!!) with the exact same stamps (I guess great minds think alike Wink) on some dishtowels. Since I liked the finished product - I ended up doing some hankies as well! Let me know what y'all think! Cheesy

13  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Woodland creatures have invaded your flour sack towels on: March 30, 2009 02:40:37 PM
Grin Okay....can I just say how awesome Jenny Hart's Sublime Stitching is???  These are some of my first towels that I've started, and I sold them almost immediately after I put 'em up for sale on Etsy. I used back stitch and satin stitch and even the backs looked great!!! I love how awesome they turned out!! Let me know what y'all think...

14  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / angel packages received and other questions/rants on: February 23, 2009 11:26:20 PM
Huh I recently did an angel package for someone who had been flaked on, had an angel - and the angel package went missing...
So, being a good little swapper, I sent my package (overseas as I am in the US) and sent it around Jan 10. I have the receipt of it being sent, but have tried repeatedly to see if my person received it and no answer. This swap ended like in July of last year and the organizer has also been contacted to see if she has hear from her yet - but I've received no answer from her either! Tongue
I don't want to be a pest, but I put alot of time and effort (especially in one item in particular) and would really like to know if it was received...

And since I'm ranting.... Tongue I feel weird about this, but within the last year, I have been flaked on (seriously) like 6 times....very disheartening. I've always had superb angels though, and will continue angeling, because I know how utterly crappy you feel when you put tons of effort into something and PBBBBBTTTT!!!!!!!!!!! (insert rude sound here) Lips sealed  Is it bad swap manners to ask your organizer to not pair you up with newbies??
Sorry again for the rants.... Undecided
15  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Alice perlers on: February 17, 2009 07:03:57 PM
Grin I did these for an angel package for the Alice in Craftsterland swap (and since she received today - I gotta post 'em) - I think I might be addicted to making perlers!!! I am seriously gonna have to make my own of these...the girl didn't want to part with them... Roll Eyes

Alice, the White Rabbit (also my fav song from Jefferson Airplane) and a cute little hedgehog

the card suits - these didn't turn out quite as well as I had hoped, but since I didn't follow any patterns, I think I did pretty darn good! (pats self on back) Wink

Please let me know what y'all think!
16  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Aprons and more aprons...oh my! on: January 17, 2009 03:05:57 PM
Grin Been busy sewing up loads of aprons! I keep buying fabric that I like - but I only buy a yard - so what else can you do with it?? Aprons! I made up this pattern on my own and made 12 of these for Christmas gifts as well! Let me know what y'all think!

Project Runway fabric

license plates

and my personal fav - vintage Woodsy the Owl sheets

17  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Dragon wrap on: January 12, 2009 11:46:58 AM
Grin After the Let it be - Our Lady of Guadalupe wrap skirt http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=286470.0, I just had to make more! This is my second one - dragon wrap. Made with the fabulous Tatsu fabric from A. Henry and some purple sandwashed silk I had in my stash. Please let me know what y'all think Wink

18  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Blondie and army green leggings on: January 09, 2009 08:55:55 PM
Grin My very first pattern I drafted myself!!! Simple leggings - I can't seem to find the right length or size (I'm no spring chicken  Kiss), so I decided to do my own. Blondie is crafted from book cover material that was super cheap at Hancocks (I think) and the army green is some lovely stretchy tencel/cotton/spandex knit from JoAnne's (it was not cheap!). I really like how they turned out and they fit perfectly!!! Please let me know what y'all think Wink

19  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Let it be....Our Lady of Guadalupe silk wrap skirt on: January 09, 2009 08:18:52 PM
Cheesy This reminded me of the Beatles "Let It Be"...."When I find my self in times of trouble, Mother Mary comes to me...speaking words of wisdom, let it be" - great inspiration Wink
I've had this on my sewing table for about 2 years now, just waiting to be finished...but I couldn't just let it be a plain Jane black silk dupioni wrap skirt - UGH! So I put it off until recently - I found this awesome Our Lady of Guadalupe fabric....perfection!! After putting four panels on - I decided it still didn't quite look finished - so I rummaged around and found this super huge vintage lace - it's about 5" long!!! I loved it so much - I actually wore it to dinner out tonight  Grin Please let me know what y'all think...

20  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / That 70's cowl - version 1 & 1.2 on: January 03, 2009 05:32:17 PM
Wink First actual project on the Nifty Knitters....a warm wonderful cowl! Inspired by the 1970's avocado colored appliances - they are made from Tahki Baby bulky wool. Let me know what y'all think - I am uber proud of them as this was the first real project and I changed colors without too much effort!
