11  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Couple of New Bags on: September 25, 2009 12:14:52 PM
The hobo style is the free phoebe pattern, and the tote is a standard gusseted tote. They both have zip pockets and key leashes and the zebra has an additional cell and wallet pocket. They were made for my sons girlfriend.

12  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Monk's Bag on: May 30, 2009 06:45:56 PM
I came across this bag, http://www.purlbee.com/the-purl-bee/2009/1/13/japanese-crafting-with-mari-monks-bag.html. I decided to give it a whirl in some fabric I am trying to use up. The mods are 2 zippered pockets a key leash and cute UK related zip pulls. It was super easy, even adding the pocket on the outside was easy. I wanted a zipper under a flap and I just winged it, I think it came out ok. What do you guys think?

13  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Stars Bag on: May 12, 2009 01:29:56 PM
I made this bag for a swap, I embroidered stars on the outside fabric by hand then sewed into a bag> It is huge, please forgive amateur photos.

14  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / The Traveler Bag on: May 06, 2009 11:33:16 AM
I was going thru my sewing stuff and came across this messenger bag, that I had drafted, cut, and basted fleece to the pieces and never sewed together. Fast forward about 3 years and I finally put it together. The fabrics are all thrift shop finds, the map flap was a piece of canvas that had the design screenprinted on, the lining was a sheet and the canvas was a remnant, even the key leash hook was a harvest of an ugly bag.
I am currently home on medical leave and I am so bored, I been sewing because I hate tv and if I give Diesel one more bath he may run away from home lol. He looks fantastic though and I just love the mango tango dog shampoo I bought him hehe. Gotta love mango scented dog right! Please excuse my rambling...Mars

17  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Chocolate Ribbons Tote on: January 30, 2009 11:05:36 AM
This is made from a remnant of a gorgeous taffeta home decor weight fabric, lined with a brown satin and one of my fancy zippers. I use batting and craftbond interfacing for body. It is VERY LARGE. It also has a magnetic snap closure. The 2nd pic is the truer color.

18  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Big Blue Bag on: January 24, 2009 01:55:16 PM
My daughter is away at school and she requested I make her a big tote.
She loves skull prints so whenever I see them I grab some yardage, this was from Joanns 4.99 a yard cheap.
This tote is 20 x 21 and huge. Because I only had a yard of this fabric I had to improvise, and use blue canvas. The square rings are harvested of another bag, it is interfaced with fusible low loft batting, and has a magnetic closure. I was bad and didn't make an interior pocket, but she wanted it to carry her large sketch books so no biggie. I will make her some pouches.

20  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Scraps Tote on: January 15, 2009 10:49:09 AM
I was given a copy of quick stuff to sew magazine, and this style tote was in it. I make dog collars and happened to have a huge bag of leftover fabric strips, so that saved me a step. The zip pocket in the liner was the only mod I added. I don't know if I will use it but it was fun to make, everything used to make it except the craftfuse was scraps or leftover fabric.
