Worsted weight yarn. (I used red heart)
CO 30 with size 4 needles using double pointed needles. Divide onto needles. Leave enough tail to use for loop.
Knit in the round until piece measures desired size. (Mine was 4 1/4 inches long)
Three Needle bind-off is what I used. I like not having to sew up any sides or bottom. All one piece!
Then, crochet a chain with cast on tail for loop. However long you want. I think I chained 10. Then attach it to the other side and sew the button on the front. I put it right under the cast on edge.
Finished size is about 3 inches wide, depending on how tight you knit.
I wasn't sure how it would turn out but I wanted a way to close the top up, so I thought I'd try this button method.
I'm having a giveaway for one like this here: http://noelwright.blogspot.com/2011/09/october-31th-freebie-giveaway.html
