1  Crocheted ear flap hats in Crochet: Completed Projects by tasana on: January 10, 2012 06:06:45 PM
Technically, it's not a completed project cause I haven't sewn on the flowers yet. Does it still count to post here?

Made these with odds and ends of Plymouth Encore yarn. I've got two more to make before I'm done.

If anyone wants the pattern links for these, email me.

2  Re: Hoarding my yarn stash has to stop! in Crochet: Discussion and Questions by tasana on: November 20, 2011 12:43:59 PM
I do use my yarn fairly quickly, but after starting an etsy I quickly realized how much I miss crocheting just for fun.  I haven't used my etsy in some time now.  I much rather prefer to enjoy my craft Smiley

I totally agree. I used to make stuff just for fun. Then, I got an etsy store and the fun went out of it. So, I closed my etsy store for awhile and trying to just enjoy myself again. And yes, I hoard yarn too! We live in a tiny place (about 250 sq. feet home) and the amount of yarn I have is too much. Stuffed in every cupboard! lol

I found this great blog about minimalist knitting and I love what she has to say. That's my goal is to be that way.

3  Baby sets. Some parts crocheted in Knitting: Completed Projects by tasana on: November 06, 2011 08:23:19 AM

would love some advice on how to make the ties for the baby blue bootie's. This particular yarn *bernat baby coordinates frays easily and when I try to make the ties the ends just come apart. Wondering if they even need ties. - I don't care for ties, personally.

If anyone wants the pattern to any of these, message me!

4  Navy blue and orange water bottle cozy in Crochet: Completed Projects by tasana on: October 25, 2011 03:47:03 PM
I got the pattern here: http://www.finecraftguild.com/free-crochet-pattern-lovely-bottle-bag/

My friend loved it but said it was really big! It holds a 1 liter water bottle and when used with the strap hangs down to her knees. (She put a 16 ounce water bottle in it when it hung that low)

Any ideas on how I can make a better strap?? I crocheted a chain with navy blue and orange.

I made her a knitted ear flap hat and scarf in the same colors. but with white for the scarf. posted in the knitting completed projects section if you want to see it.

5  Chicago bears hat and scarf set in Knitting: Completed Projects by tasana on: October 25, 2011 03:40:55 PM
I made these for a friend of mine. I also made her a matching crocheted (pic seen in the crochet section) water bottle cozy.

The pattern for the hat is found here: http://photokat22.blogspot.com/2009/11/kats-two-sticks-ear-flap-ski-hat.html
The scarf pattern is here: http://www.bernat.com/pattern.php?PID=215

I started it last Thursday and finished it on Monday.

6  first crocheted baby hats in Crochet: Completed Projects by tasana on: October 03, 2011 01:52:04 PM
After seeing some beautiful crocheted hats here, I was inspired to try making some crocheted baby hats. I still have room to improve, but I'm happy with what I made so far.

8  Knitted baby/kids hats in Knitting: Completed Projects by tasana on: September 21, 2011 06:43:40 AM
I love knitting hats for babies and kids. I only wish I had some of my own kids to knit them for.   Sad

Oh well, at least I'm getting lots of practice!

9  Baby booties in Knitting: Completed Projects by tasana on: September 21, 2011 06:19:57 AM
I like this pattern because it's easy.

I found it here: http://www.etsy.com/listing/61959284/pattern-beginner-baby-booty-skidoo-2?ref=sc_1

I wasn't sure if I would be able to knit these or not but the etsy seller was very patient and helpful as I knit them. -Not that it was a hard pattern but at the time I was new to knitting. I never know when I buy a pattern if I'm just out there on my own trying to figure it out or if I can ask questions along the way.

I've made dozens of these since and have given them to all my expecting friends. They fit for a long time after the sizes listed too and are warm and toasty!

One of my projects this month is to knit more but in red for the base part and white for the cuff even adding some fun fur to the top. Will post up some pictures when I get them done.

I was playing around with adding purl rows and seed stitch to my regular knitted soap savers and this is what it looked like:
