1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / My mom's wedding shawl on: July 12, 2012 12:05:37 PM
My mom got married in June. I am so happy for her to finally have someone who loves her and treats her so good. When she got engaged, just before SAFF last year, I told her I'd like to knit her a shawl for her wedding. She picked the Shipwreck Shawl on Ravelry and we picked out the yarn at SAFF, ordered 4,000 beads online, and I set to work. I only used 2,000 of the beads, because my mom is disabled and I worried about it being to heavy for her. I finished the shawl in 4 months and 1 day. It was a very challenging but amazing when finished. Enough of my babble, on to the pictures!

Before blocking!

After  blocking! It really makes a difference, and it doesn't look very sparkly in the pics, but believe me, every way you move those beads pick up the light and just glimmer.

Thanks for looking!
2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Thor's Hammer on: July 12, 2012 11:57:05 AM
Hubs got a dremmel tool a few Christmas' back. Every year he gets some accessories to go with it, and this past year it was engraving bits. He's always big on woodwork, so he set out to make a Thor's hammer. This past weekend he finally stained it. I think it's amazing for his first engraving.

3  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Egyptian Banner on: July 12, 2012 11:49:42 AM
I'd like to brag on my hubs a bit. He's been helping me craft since I met him and loved stenciling when I first started doing it a few years back. He was bored the other day and took the time to cut out, spray paint, then stencil his own Egyptian banner. It came out really nice, and I'm going to look for the way to finish the edges and hang it somewhere. For now, it rests over the sterio in the dining room.

4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / My shawl! on: September 28, 2011 04:50:39 PM
I just finished this yesterday. Very happy with it. Love the colors too, and I'm usually not a big orange person. The pattern I found on Ravelry. http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/multnomah

The yarn is from The Unique Sheep. They have a website, but I bought it at SAFF last year. I really hope they are there again this year so I can get some more. It's very soft and easy to knit with.
5  COOKING / Dessert / An awesome icing on cupcakes on: July 18, 2011 10:11:27 AM
I found this link on pinterest, and made my husband go out and bring home a box of cake mix. I'll need smaller tips, and a bit more practice, but they are still awesome to look at.

Not the best pics, but it was 10 at night and I was fighting to take them before they were eaten.

And the website that has instructions.

6  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Levi, List, and Agrippa portraits on: January 08, 2011 10:43:09 AM
Hubs does a lots of pencil drawings, and I wanted to show them off to someone. Well, that would be who ever takes time to look. Thanks in advance!

7  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Triskele hoop on: January 02, 2011 05:16:32 PM
I made this for the OTT hoopla swap. It's my first satin stitch and it was free handed, so I'm very proud of how it came out. Thanks for looking!

8  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Moogle, Goomba, and other ami's on: December 19, 2010 01:17:47 AM
I'm in the 12 days of Christmas swap and my partner, Pirate Coley, said she wanted an Amigurumi army. I was only to happy to start her one.

First up, Tribble or Pygmy, idk. There are eyes in there....somewhere.

Inspired by her wists, this little monster was born.

I saw this pattern on Ravelry and thought, every good army must have a navy force.

Another sea creature.

Also wist inspired.

The Goomba.

And lastestly, the Moogle. So hard to part with, I'll be making my own very soon!

9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Wedding Veil (lots of pics) on: August 26, 2010 02:45:54 PM
I got married over a year ago. My mom made my veil and I love it so much. It's a little crinkley (sp?) now because of the way it was put up. But anyways, here it is. The little flower and rhinestone part was bought at david's bridal, and my mom bought and added the veil and did all the beading on it. It's scalloped edged. I think that's what she called it. Anways, pictures!!

action shot!

10  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Star earrings on: August 20, 2010 06:04:48 PM
I saw these stars at Michaels and had to make earrings. Not the greatest pics, but you get the idea at least. Thanks for looking!
