1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Poppet Clothing swap? on: April 22, 2009 09:05:36 PM
So there's been a bit of discussion about doing a smaller poppet swap where we just swap clothes and accessories for our poppets. It would be smaller and quicker than the normal poppet swaps but lots of fun!
Any takers? Ideas?

Hello all!
This is my most recent poppet. She was made for the poppet swap. I'm ridiculously proud of this girl and all of her accessories. I used fake fur for her hair and Alova suede for her skin. She came with a top, bodice, bloomer thingies, skirt, boots, belt, knife, top hat, goggles and four extra dresses that laced up the back.  Grin

5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Mini Poppet on: December 09, 2008 08:38:53 PM
Just wanted to share a poppet that I made a few months ago that a friend commissioned me to make.
Shes a mini with boobs, hand painted eyes, infinity dress and real human hair! Shocked
(but dont worry it was the kind for wigs and stuff)

The hair was really fun cause you could brush it! And you could make it look really different depending on how you brushed it. Also, I was lazy and just glued the hair in but it worked really well for this.

I'm trying to get back into making poppets again after a long brake over the summer so hopefully I will have more pretties to show soon.
Thanks for looking! Grin
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Two Simple Summer Dresses on: July 29, 2008 01:56:02 PM
I made these dresses using the tutorial found here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=77268.0
Also these are my first ever summer dresses! I'm so proud of myself and I can still hardly believe they are wearable!
The first one is just plain pink with nothing really fancy going on. I want to add something to it but I'm not sure what yet. Maybe a stencil done in black? If you have any ideas let me know! *sorry about the crappy pictures!*

Second one! Pretty much the same except for the little gathered bit in the front. I did a photo shoot in this dress with my photographer friend and you can see some of those pictures on her flickr site http://www.flickr.com/photos/26977653@N02/

Yum! Cactus! Grin
Thanks for looking! Let me know what you think!
7  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Fairy Poppets (Img Overload) on: July 10, 2008 02:24:33 PM
More poppets! I think I've made over 20 by now...

Fairy I was commissioned to make

Hand-painted eyes and silk leaves for wings

Flower petal tutu

Leopard print poppet made for the Teenagers Swap. Made with the Elenore pattern. I made her a modified easy peasy dress that laced up in the back with a removable tutu underneath.

Mini Fairy with hand-painted eyes and cellophane wings that are removable. Made for the Once You Pop Swap.

Thanks for looking!
8  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Nerdy Poppets (Img Overload) on: July 10, 2008 02:22:20 PM
Two of my recent poppet creations, I'll put the rest in another thread so as not to completely overwhelm everyone with pictures.

Night Elf poppet (from World of Warcraft for all you non nerds out there) made for the Poppet swap. She was made using the Elenore version of the poppet pattern, has wire in her ears to make them pose-able and real leather boots, bracers and bodice

Hand-painted eyes as well and extra long lashes

Staff

Mini Wonder Woman with hand-painted eyes and made for the Once You Pop Swap. Her costume was pretty much just sewed and glued directly on to her so it doesn't come off. Her lasso was made with embroidery floss and her wrist cuffs and crown thingy was made with a paper plate that I painted and cut to shape  Grin

Thanks for looking and let me know what you think!
9  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Wonder Woman Embroidery on: July 10, 2008 01:49:37 PM
I made this embroidery for FicklePegasus in the Once You Pop Swap. It's only my second embroidery project and I am so incredibly proud of myself. No pattern, I just traced her straight from my computer screen.

And this is how my finger looked halfway through the embroidery Tongue

Wooo poppets!
If you love poppets then go signup for the poppet swap! Now! http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=244615.0

I just made this cute little witchy poppet yesterday. I was commissioned to make her for a friend of my grandmas. I love the way she turned out. She was made using the new and improved Elenore pattern and has a modified version of the easy peasy poppet dress, a tutu thing and removable pointy hat made out of craft foam.

Pink poppet made for my partner in the name swap. The fabric I used was awful to work with. It frayed like crazy, hardly had any stretch and was a huge pain to stuff. I'm not sure what type of fabric it was but it was from wal-mart and was shiny on the reverse side. The only good thing about it is that its reaaally soft.
Anywho. I made her an infinity dress, jean skirt, blue blouse and shrinky dink necklace.

Blue poppet made for ClonedBravo. I love the way she turned out, I think she looks kinda sad though.

Naked boobies!

Second poppet I made using the Elenore pattern(loooong time ago). not much to say about her. I'll try and dig up a full body pic in a bit.
