Anyway, I was wondering how much did you increast the size of the bag from the tutorial?

I increased the height of every piece by 2 inches. Also, I increased the width of the side pieces (lining included) and the pockets by 2 inches. You have to also increase an inch on each side of the zipper so that it reaches across the bag.

I hope this makes sense.

Just a note, you can't really tell from the picture but the red fabric is actually a fine suede. Which works so well with the pleated bags if you give it a go.

So, I had a nice long weekend. My usual distraction was out of town, so I had to keep myself busy for once - crafting was involved.

I love it. I used this (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=178244.0) pattern. This is my second attempt as this tutorial, but I didn't include the zipper before. I also went a bit more light on pleating this time and increased the size. I wanted a more duffel bag sort of feel.



My cellphone fits perfectly in the handy pockets.



And the inside is nice & roomy. The lining and outside fabric (with the print) is actually brown and white...even though it seems a bit more black in the pictures (trust me - it is a very deep brown). If I do this pattern again I am going to add inside pockets.

on a side note: YOU HAVE GRASS?! where i live everything's covered by a large fat layer of snow. it snowed the entire day today. by entire, i mean ENTIRE.

I am blessed to be in southern California. It was 86 degrees out there today...and super sunny.
