1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Night Circus swap? on: July 09, 2012 05:57:40 PM
Hi all,

I recently finished reading "The Night Circus" by Erin Morgenstern.  It was fantastically fantastical and I had crafty projects running through my head the whole time I read it.

Anyone interested in forming a swap based on this story?  I wouldn't be able to organize it, but I would be most happy to participate!!!!  Anyone up for some magical crafting?
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Color coordinated crochet rugs, yippee! on: July 30, 2008 10:53:44 AM
Hi crafters  Cheesy

Upon finishing my master's degree, I really had to reward myself with something I had wanted to do for a long, long time!  The very next day after my thesis defense, I taught myself to crochet rag rugs with old sheets/old fabric  Grin  I love making these now.  I don't know if I am doing it exactly right, but I think I like the way they look.  Some crochet in the round pieces i have seen looks much better the way it starts out in the center with a spiral or a hole in the middle, does that make sense?  Mine doesn't do that, but oh well Smiley

I made the first one for my bathroom in blues and yellows and greens.  Second one was made for my parent's bath in sage green and plum and lavender.  Third one was for my man in all sorts of colors from scraps from quilting and previous rag rug strips!  Lovin' it!  I'm currently working on one in red and pink and turquoise for my kitchen.  Here are some pictures:
