1  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 69 ENTRIES / Indoor Quidditch set on: December 02, 2011 06:55:05 AM
Every year I ask my kids what I can make them for christmas that they actually want. Normally its a hat, gloves but this year my son came up with two very off the wall (harder) ideas.
One was a quidditch set that he could pretend with but he wanted to play with it inside.
So here are the pictures.
Its a "chest" with two bats, two bludgers (held down with chains) the quaffle and then in the corner is a box with the snitch. I crocheted everything but the bats they are made with felt and the outside of the chest is covered in felt too.

Everything outside the box

The inside:

Thanks for looking I can't wait to see his reaction (and his sister's reaction she wanted it after I told her I was actually doing it!!)
2  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / TRON Legacy- Quorra on: November 01, 2011 03:57:10 AM
My daughter was set on being Quorra from Tron Legacy. We bought the wig and she wore my boots!
The outfit is made of pleather and glow in the dark paint, She settled for greenish glow in the dark instead of the blue because I couldn't figure it out!
She was happy so that's all that matters.
Sorry for the bad expression, I didn't take the picture!! (too busy doing the other kids costumes at the last minute!!)
3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Gorilla on: October 18, 2011 03:13:05 AM
Thanks for commenting. I added a before picture, I wasn't sure if people would be interested or not.
It wasn't too bad working with the hair, it was different (i've never done it before) I Had to make sure the hair wasn't in the seam and by the end my shirt was covered in all the hair pieces that got cut off!! But as far as sewing it wasn't awful.

My son isn't fond of him but hopefully he will as he grows up a bit!!
4  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 67 ENTRIES / Glasses Case on: October 07, 2011 05:56:42 PM
Well my 11 year old daughter just got her first set of glasses. This challenge was perfect timing as she wanted a custom glasses case. She did all the work!! So here it is:

It has a magnetic closure and the inside is yellow flannel so not to scratch the lenses!
Thanks for reading, have a great day!
5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Gorilla --from a hat (edited to add before picture) on: October 06, 2011 08:20:58 AM
I did a race where at the end they gave you a Warrior (viking) hat. Well my son has been in love with the book "Goodnight Gorilla" and so I decided to make the hat into a gorilla.

Here is my gorilla:

6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: Some Harry Potter jewelry pieces on: September 12, 2011 06:01:55 AM
I lovetime turner. Where in the world did you get the little hourglass? My daughter is begging me to make her one and I'd love to surprise her for christmas but I have no idea where to get something so tiny.
Great job.

8  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / The Big Bang Theory Game Pieces on: February 03, 2011 10:10:18 AM
I am making a Big Bang Theory game for my husband and came up with these for the pieces. I am not very good at poly clay (I rush and have little patience) so there was NO way I could do the actual characters!

Here are my pieces: An atom, Sheldon's t-shirt, a penny blossom, the black thing is a pin that Howard always wears (its supposed to be an alien pin!) and the Green Lantern's lantern.
9  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: sexy banana plushie on: November 19, 2010 06:49:15 AM
this is so much fun! It just makes you smile when you look at it. Did you use felt? I can instantly imagine a whole line of sexy food!!
10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Travel Necklace thingy! on: November 18, 2010 10:21:50 AM
For earrings I make these, they can have necklaces on the bottom but they curl up, I've done bracelets on the bottom or watches. Its basically three cirlces, two of the larger outside, and one the inside and then you sew the smaller one to the larger one to make the pockets for the earrings. It has a drawstring on the outside to close it all up.
