Like the hem on the bottom I sewed it on with heavy duty thread. Then once I had a chain on top, I just keep crocheting!

Well here's my first shirt, with crochet on it. I used an old tank top and cut it across the sleeves and added the crochet. Then I added a little crochet chain along the bottom hem, and painted oranges on it. What do you think?

There all real cute, looks like something my little sister would have loved as well! Sorry I can't help with the lettuce edging, but really it looks fine to me!
