1  Bekka Butterfly Fairy in CHALLENGE 40 ENTRIES by madmissylives on: July 03, 2009 07:31:35 AM
This is an adorable photo of a little relative of mine that just cried out for wings and flowers. I have been doing this with pictures of my own children for a few  years. This is a small (5 1/2 X 4) mixed medium collage. I used old Bird and Bloom magazines for the pictures surrounding the photo of Bekka. The sky is done with permanent markers and some water color as well as paint. I love doing these.

3  Preschool Classroom Dumpster Diving! in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by madmissylives on: January 18, 2008 04:21:33 PM
Up until 2 years ago I worked for a preschool program and we were on a limited budget. I came up with this idea to make an entry way into the reading area. We got boxes from the cafeteria dumpster and used school paper towels, glue and water mixture, and donated magazines. It cost us about $5 of our own money for the paint, a couple of Sharpies and Modge Podge to seal. For the "landscaping" we used a botanical calender from the previous year, another donation.

We got such a great response from the other teachers and kids that we put the castle in the county fair as the gateway to our art exhibit. But...as happens too often with castles...time has taken her from us.  3 and 4 year olds can wreak havoc on a castle. She is now a ruin and has been returned to the dumpster from whence she came.

Ok....I haven't posted in awhile and I cannot figure out how to post a picture. If anyone wants to see this...please tell me how to do that.

4  Sage on a Shroom....what now? in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by madmissylives on: September 13, 2007 03:38:57 AM
I posted this in the dyes section to show off the dyes, but my real love is of the completed piece. I was doodling one day with sharpies and came up with this little mushroom home. I scanned a picture of my daughter, Sage (now 11) and printed her and placed her on it. Now I have quite a few of these. Question: What now? People say "they oughtta be published"> Ok..where? How? Any ideas what to do with these?

How do you get the image right in the post? I can only manage a link so far...but I just joined yesterday.

5  Sage ona Shroom in Dyeing: Completed Projects by madmissylives on: September 12, 2007 05:25:20 PM

Not sure if I am doing this right. It is my first post . Anyway~ I wanted to show off not only my dyes but my beautiful baby who is now 11 years old. Her name is Sage and she is sitting on a doodle that eventually became my obsession. What do you think of putting these whimsical little pictures on shrinky dink stuff and making earring and other jewelry out of them?

Here goes.....image appear!
