2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Chinese Fabric Faux leather Bag PIC HEAVY on: January 06, 2010 12:50:30 PM
Haven't lurked in a while.  Here is my latest creation for my Mom for Christmas.  She liked it very much!  Enjoy!  Came up with a different idea for a closure, lets call it a reverse snap closure.  One large pocket inside and a matching EZ PZ wallet.

3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / A Wee Little jewelry pouch project that has me sewing perfect circles! on: April 01, 2009 03:34:45 AM
So I was looking for a little project.  Actually my girlfriend is becoming a Lia Sophia Consultant and well I thought she needed a new jewelry pouch for display at her shows.

So I found this tutorial   -no pics but it was easy wihtout 'em

http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=15142.msg121205#msg121205

and whipped up the black one Monday night.  Then after being a little frustrated sewing circles not so great I googled sew a perfect circle.  Maybe this is not news to many but for me it was so I want to share.

How To Sew a Perfect Circle:
Place/tape a tack upside down the radius of the circle from the needle.  Place center of fabric on tack, sew a perfect circle.  Shocked  So last night I had to try this again after my other half so kindly whipped up an extension board for my machine to be able to do this!!!  Enjoy!  Second one came out with perfect circles!

6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Watch out Vegas! Buttercup Bag Coming your way! on: March 29, 2009 04:47:09 PM
Ok so I just had to try this pattern.  Made the original pattern.  This is for my friends birthday in April. She is going to Las Vegas in May and I just couldn't resist.  Check out the suprise inside  Cool

I couldn't believe how the colors in these 2 fabrics matched for a unique combo!

Enjoy and may you be inspired to try.  Thought it was an easy pattern.  Just not sure if I did the pleats totally right.  My first time with pleats and when I sewed the outer top to the outer bottom my outer top was a little shorter than my outer bottom.  Maybe I didn't make the pleats big enough?  Anyway totally un-noticeable once finished Wink

Another wallet!  I love this tutorial and this fabric !!  Same inside as my last one but I did a better job on the zipper, straighter!  Practice makes Perfect!  Enjoy!

8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / My first wallet! Now with ez pz wallet & organizer! Thanks to elily00's tute!!! on: March 15, 2009 04:40:04 PM
Added matching easy peasy wallet and purse organizer.  I am so ready for spring!!!!!

I think I am in trouble!!  This tute was a breeze to work with and now I think I am gonna have to make a bunch more!!!  THANK U Elily00!!

http://elily00.wordpress.com/tutorials/wallet/

I have been wanting to make a wallet for a long time but just wasn't sure I could pull it off.  This was my ticket, now I am addicted!  I have been hoarding this fabric, found it as a remnant but think I will need to buy a few yards for safe keeping before it dissappears.

I was so excited to do the zipper, I couldn't believe it was like magic the way it worked although next time (and believe me there will be many next times) I will cut the zipper opening closer to the corners and make it a little neater.  Also was very pleased with the dimensions, the card slot pockets hold the cards snugly and I did not interface the card pockets.  I did interface the 2 large squares and the snap tab and everything looks great!  My other half was pretty impressed with this project, usually I get yeah another bag, how many of those do you need.  He was like maybe you coudl make my mom one for her birthday.  That is his way of giving a compliment Wink

And the bag I bought for $5.00 on clearance at Walmart that inspired the wallet!  Time for a purse organizer to match!

An an action shot with contents!
9  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Skirt turned Designer Looking Bag!! on: March 10, 2009 10:22:24 AM
Hey all - Haven't posted in a while but here is a project I completed yesterday.  Before and after pictures.  I picked up the skirt at the Goodwill for $1.49, and it said genuine leather on the tag, from Spiegel no less.  As I laid my eyes on it at the Goodwill I thought that looks like a horribly uncomfortable skirt but I saw it's new life in the making.

I transformed it as it was lining and all.  I cut off the hips made the straps and attached.  The top of the bag is the top of the skirt , back zipper too.  I sewed it into a square bag then sewed the bottom corners in 2.5 inches to give me a 5 inch rectangular bottom.

I even have enough left over from the bottom of the skirt, that includes the back slit..... I am thinking to clutch or not to clutch.  Wink

Enjoy!!  Comments welcomed!
