1  My Kate Spade knockoff in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by stacijane on: May 11, 2012 07:53:20 PM
I fell in love with the design of this Kate Spade bag, but the price tag is way out of my range.  I decided to make one myself!  I'm very happy with how it came out.  What do you think?

2  "Vera" style backpack for DD in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by stacijane on: June 28, 2009 06:26:06 AM
This is McCalls 4118.  It was pretty easy, but I will make a few changes if I do another.  For one, I will eliminate the strange zipper in the back.  What is the point of that?  Second, I will not quilt the inside and lining together, I will line the bag separately to avoid having to fight with bias tape.

What do you think?

3  New purse for me! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by stacijane on: June 28, 2009 06:23:12 AM
This is a fantastic pattern from Arty-Crafty Babe.  I love how it turned out, and it was very simple to make.

I didn't get any pictures of the inside - I already have all my stuff in it! Smiley

4  Curious George Diaper Bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by stacijane on: June 28, 2009 06:21:14 AM
This bag was an order from a friend.  They requested Curious George and I happened to find some fabric at Jo-Anns for it.  I love the red denim - this will be a very durable bag.

5  Re: Has anyone tried this pattern? in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by stacijane on: March 19, 2009 06:02:19 PM
I have made this bag!  It was very easy, although a little time consuming.  If I remember correclty, the instructions call for using waist shaper in the handles.  I had never heard of this, but found it at JoAnns and it made the pressing and sewing of the handles so easy!  I use it in all of my purse handles now.

The lining is a red with tiny white polka dots.  It didn't photograph very well.  My daughter took this bag almost immediately!  Grin

7  A couple new bags I did today! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by stacijane on: September 14, 2008 04:32:35 PM
I had this orange bag pretty much done and finished it up today.  I really like the pattern.  It's by sweet 'n sassy - the drawstring bag.

The colors are off - the lining is really a crayola red.

Setting all those grommets took a while!

This is possibly one of my favorites so far.  Its a "sew easy" pattern.  I made the pocket insert for it, but can't take credit for the idea.  A woman I work with made this bag and made the pockets - so I copied her!  Grin

Sorry for the icky photos!

Comments always welcome!!

8  Laptop bag for my DD in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by stacijane on: September 14, 2008 12:24:13 PM
My daughter started college this fall and got a new MacBook.  i decided she needed a fun sleeve to keep it protected.  The oustide is a fun heavy decorator fabric and it is lined with pink fleece.  There is craft foam sandwiched in between along with some batting for extra protection.

She claims she loves it - but you just never know! Smiley

9  Bridesmaid Jelwelry in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by stacijane on: September 14, 2008 12:19:57 PM
My friend is getting married and as a gift to her I offered to make the necklaces for her bridesmaids.  At the time I didn't know there were 7 of them!!  Smiley

It's kind of hard to tell in this photo, but her colors are slate blue and a kindog dark mauve purple color.  In other words - very hard to find matching beads for!!  She is very happy with them.  There are 5 blue and 2 purple in all.  Here is a photo of one of each color.

My friend is getting married next weekend and she asked me to make bags for all 7 of her bridesmaids.  These will be her gifts to them.

Sorry for the tiny group shot - I didn't have the ambition to take individual shots of them.  Smiley
