Adorable! I loooove the pockets, and I'm NOT a pocket person, really. I think pockets look tacky on most things but yours I thought were really well done, I love the shapes and piping and everything. Double thumbs up for the bass in the background!! (I'm a girl bassist, we are very rare  ) Do you play?

Super cute, and LOVE the shirt. I saw how awesome the shirt was and was afraid it'd get super cut up, but I like it even better now.
I also like it a lot without pockets, but add them if you must...

It's super cute! I was really frightened when I read "sailor-y goodness," thinking Oh no, she's either made a Sailor Moon costume or a Navy Seals outfit....good grief. However, the second I saw the pictures, I was quite pleasantly surprised. It's incredibly flattering on you and I say you should wear it all the time just to own your friend for thinking nothing could be done for that mumu, haha.

Very cool! Our colorguard had to DIY their uniforms as well for our first football game, hehe.

I'm going to have to make me one of those kimono tops...mmmm I love it.

I love it! I think I'm going to have to deconstruct a button-down and make a similar one for meself...mmm.
And man, I myself know the joys of being a good deal smaller than your bass. I don't think I could ever stand to stand on and/or drag mine around (I'm a jazz musician, anyhow...it would be a teensy bit out of place  ), but I'm quite proud of him for having the guts to do so.

While looking through the New York Couture site (http://newyorkcouture.net), I came across and sorta fell in love with this piece:

I realized that I had a tye-dye shirt I'd made at my last school carnival lying around in my backyard, of all places, and I decided to finally wash it and get to work.

Here it is after I cut off the collar and sleeves:

This zipper looks like it's tilted, but it's not. You may notice the slight bunching. My zipper foot is MIA, so I decided to go without it. Coulda been worse.

And there it is! If anybody wants a tutorial, I'd be glad to make one.

I'd check out a couple of the Sari shops on University for fabric. Gorgeous stuff, and it's not always as expensive as you may think.
