1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Revamped Girls Dresses (Lots of pictures) on: November 25, 2010 03:48:51 AM
Adorable! I loooove the pockets, and I'm NOT a pocket person, really. I think pockets look tacky on most things but yours I thought were really well done, I love the shapes and piping and everything. Double thumbs up for the bass in the background!! (I'm a girl bassist, we are very rare  Grin) Do you play?
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: RAWR GODZILLA RETURNS.... IN HOODIE FORM! ***UPDATED WITH DINO BEENIE*** on: August 07, 2008 03:18:06 PM
Super cute, and LOVE the shirt. I saw how awesome the shirt was and was afraid it'd get super cut up, but I like it even better now.
I also like it a lot without pockets, but add them if you must...
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Grannys Muu Muu Turned Sailor-y Goodness. on: July 31, 2008 12:22:12 AM
It's super cute! I was really frightened when I read "sailor-y goodness," thinking Oh no, she's either made a Sailor Moon costume or a Navy Seals outfit....good grief. However, the second I saw the pictures, I was quite pleasantly surprised. It's incredibly flattering on you and I say you should wear it all the time just to own your friend for thinking nothing could be done for that mumu, haha.
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Three colorguard outfits in one evening!! Whew! on: June 15, 2008 03:54:31 PM
Very cool! Our colorguard had to DIY their uniforms as well for our first football game, hehe.
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: new labelofhope Tops kimono style and more on: April 28, 2008 01:14:27 PM
I'm going to have to make me one of those kimono tops...mmmm I love it.
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Black Jean Jacket for a Skinny Punk Boy on: March 03, 2008 12:07:03 AM
I love it! I think I'm going to have to deconstruct a button-down and make a similar one for meself...mmm.
And man, I myself know the joys of being a good deal smaller than your bass. I don't think I could ever stand to stand on and/or drag mine around (I'm a jazz musician, anyhow...it would be a teensy bit out of place  Grin), but I'm quite proud of him for having the guts to do so.

8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: New York Couture Inspired Tye-Dye Zip Bolero on: February 19, 2008 04:47:42 PM
Thanks, I was just confused as to where to go. I'll go remove it from the other board.
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / New York Couture Inspired Tye-Dye Zip Bolero on: February 19, 2008 04:13:07 PM
While looking through the New York Couture site (http://newyorkcouture.net), I came across and sorta fell in love with this piece:
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b9/deliciousbassist/pinkgreenpurpzipbolero1.jpg

I realized that I had a tye-dye shirt I'd made at my last school carnival lying around in my backyard, of all places, and I decided to finally wash it and get to work.

Here it is after I cut off the collar and sleeves:

And after a little sewing, here's my new zip bolero:

Look ma, no make-up!

Ignore my dumb tired face, I'm sick.

Here's uno close up shot:

This zipper looks like it's tilted, but it's not. You may notice the slight bunching. My zipper foot is MIA, so I decided to go without it. Coulda been worse.

And there it is! If anybody wants a tutorial, I'd be glad to make one.

Thanks for looking!

I'd check out a couple of the Sari shops on University for fabric. Gorgeous stuff, and it's not always as expensive as you may think.
