21  Re: What type of Camera? in More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions by guldikr on: July 15, 2008 06:46:07 AM
It's definitely personal preference. But I love my Olympus 510UZ.
This is a photo of my daughter Renee that I took this past weekend.
I shot it with my Olympus then tweaked it in Adobe Lightroom.

I've also had good luck with Sony Mavica's. I have a CD200 which I love that's great for close-ups. I have two Kodak Easy Shares but the are really point and shoots that don't give you a lot of options.

22  New Tiered Sundress for my daughter :-) in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by guldikr on: July 14, 2008 10:47:05 AM
She loves her new dress.
This was from a Kwik Sew Pattern she picked out at Wal-Mart and she also picked out the fabric!
She's my little model in training.

She had to go into goofball mode for a few moments too! LOL!

This is my absolutely favorite pic of her! I played with it a bit in Adobe's LightRoom!

23  Precious Moments Diaper Cake... in Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies by guldikr on: July 01, 2008 05:34:46 AM
My MIL makes these and sells them in her store but since I live 800 miles away I had to brave it and make my own. Cheesy
Everyone at work loved it! I made it for a shower at work yesterday.

The little topper prays when you squeeze him.
Thanks for looking!

24  My grandmothers loveseat recovered..... in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by guldikr on: June 24, 2008 06:56:51 AM
This was my first foray into recovering furniture but I love it! Need to redo the cushions but otherwise not bad....I will add the skirting at the bottom hopefully this coming weekend.  I'm going to use more of the pillow ticking I have on the arms.
It's denim with pillow ticking on the arms and that's what will be the skirting too!
I think once I have finished I will make some red bandanna pillows to go on it.

25  Easy way to make professional labels.. in Crafty Business Discussion by guldikr on: May 04, 2008 12:41:25 PM
Though my photo isn't the greatest! LOL!
I made my label design in Paint Shop Pro.

I then made ironed some muslin onto some freezer paper.

Then I cut it down to just a bit smaller than 8.5x11.

I then ran it through my inkjet printer just like any other piece of paper.
In paint shop pro you go to File the Print Layout and set it to labels that fit about 30 to a page.
Then have it put image into all labels.  Make sure your paper is ready for printing.

Then peel the freezer paper from the back of the labels and cut apart.

And now you have professional style labels!!

26  Re: YinYang Purse... Denim and Red, White and Blue... in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by guldikr on: May 03, 2008 05:35:16 PM
I've done a few clothes... I made my husband a pair of lounge pants last week and also a skullcap :-)  So fun!  I bought more fabric today to make more of these bags with!
We visited 6 Quilt Shops I bought some awesome fabrics!

This I plan on making appplique's with the individual frames of girls faces!
These are about 3or4 by 5or6.
I think with a little bit bigger piece of chenille or minky underneath it.
