Phew, I have electricity and a free moment at the same time!  Here are the rest of the cards I've received.

"I've always wanted to live in a house like this, but now I doubt that it will EVER happen."

pointing to targets-- "shoot here!"  "I truly and utterly hate these guys.  I hope they burn in HELL!!  It became clear to me since 2002 that I would wish Al Quida would kill them.  In 2004, that hate intensified (cont'd on back) I had a nervous breakdown due the stress of supporting brothers in a 2 bd 1 ba house and the sudden death of my mother.  I got a break from work to start therapy and meds.  It took me 3 weeks to get in.  Because of the policys of that/this administration the clinic couldn't afford to see uninsured ppl.  I had to wait another month to get into see someone else.  By that time my job was lost and I was on the verge of suicide.  I got better but have never forgotten how Iwas personally screwed over by 'Dubya.'  I cry for what our country has become under the administration and I cried for a whole day when he got re-elected.  I am glad that there is only a couple months left of this nightmare administration."

   "Some day I'll stop."

"I never MEAN to take it... I just seem to wind up with your electrical tape."

"I was going to marry the Goblin King when I was 5."

"I want to be an ACTRESS... but I am afraid of failing."

Ohhhh boy, I received from miss Pearmaid today!  She is FABULOUS!  Grin  I feel so spoiled!

I couldn't wait long enough to take a picture of the package, but it was biiiiiig!  I was so excited!  A lot of my photos are a little washed out, though, because my new computer doesn't work with my photoshop, so I couldn't fix it.  :/ sorry guys.  All the cute little notes are a mint green color.

The card Smiley

Adorable noteholder

A necklace, which I couldn't get decent colors on, but which is soooo cute-- It's a cupcake chef necklace!  It's got  a little pan, cookbook, little pink frosted cupcakes, a pastry bag...

Here's a cupcake pincushion, sporting some cupcake pins!

detail shot of the pins

The pins came in this:

A pencil roll, with, as the little note says, "spaces for pens, pencils, calculator, etc".

here's the inside

And a very cute paperweight

And inside, there were these adorable glass rocks with cupcakes and polka dots and glitter on them!

And a mini-pincushion:

Here's some lovely cupcake-print fabric, with the print along both long edges.  However, unlike the picture, it's not white, it's a really pretty periwinkle blue.

I desperately wanted resin-and-sprinkle stuff, and ohhhh boy, did I ever get what I wished for!

A resin and sprinkle cell phone charm.  I'm getting a cell phone, and this is going to be the first thing it receives!

Resin and sprinkle necklace, with a little poly-clay cupcake in it

Resin and sprinkle heart-shaped ring.  OH how I love this.

A fabulous cupcake bucket bag!

To give you an idea of how big this is, the circumference of the fullest part is 45 inches, and let me count what's in here...

All the fabric that my gifties were wrapped in, a big plastic bag,  a tank top, two night shirts, a sweater, a hoodie, five pairs of shorts, and five pairs of pajama pants.  Phew!  It is a huuuge bag.  I think I'm gonna bring it to college in the fall so I have something cute to carry my clothes to the laundry in.

Here's the ribbon around the top:

And here is a recipe book.  Let me tell you, Miss Pearmaid is just the most thoughtful person!  I am allergic to milk, and I put that under my allergies in the questionairre.  And my wonderful partner made me a book of milk-free cupcake recipes!  Each page is painted, and I couldn't resist putting every page in here. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Thank you so much, Pearmaid!  You were a great swap partner!

Ok, I got my package from the_dez!  Here we have some very cute bottlecap jewelry-- I don't know how well my camera worked, so they're earrings and a necklace made from bottlecaps with little instructions for using chopsticks on the inside.

Next is a cardigan featuring one of my favorite bands, The Pipettes.

The front:

This is on one sleeve

And the back!

Here's a detail shot of the pin that I used to wrap the cardigan-- it's made from a found pog!  Pogs were so fun... Smiley

Two pins, one of which is another pog pin, and the other is made of found notes and lists in a bottlecap.  They were in this super-cute Hello Kitty Christmas tin.

This journal is made from really cool postcards:

Here's the spine

And the back

And the cute name page!

And lastly, the_dez wrote me a note  on paper that was too fun not to share--

The pog pins are made of found pogs, the bottlecaps were found, the smurf patch on the cardigan was found, and the notes in the bottlecap pin were found.  Thanks the_dez!!!

6  Sparkly knitted flower barrette! in Knitting: Completed Projects by sugar-magnolia on: December 12, 2007 03:13:17 PM
Hi!  I got another present done.  It's for my friend Isabel.  I used the pattern for the knitted flower from the book Make Stuff.  The middle is beads glued onto a button, and I sewed a barrette... thing (y'know, the silver ones with nothing on them) onto the back.  I'm pretty happy with it.    edit: I just looked at the picture-- it's much more white in real life than in the picture.  Smiley

The romantic sunset background is a calender from the insurance company  Smiley

Got another one today... I should only have a few more coming at this point, I'll have to add them up in a little while.  This one is lovely.

The text got glared out, but it was the only one where the picture really showed up.  It says, "I think I'm desperate for human touch."  Boy, do I know that feeling.  I tend to get involved with friends that I only interact with intellectually, and I don't really notice how much I miss just little affectionate touches until I stop to think about it.  I hope that this works out soon.  Sad

8  Two presents done! Tres bien fingerless mitts and button neckwarmer. in Knitting: Completed Projects by sugar-magnolia on: December 10, 2007 02:57:51 PM
There are some fingerless mitts I made for my friend Ruby-- she speaks French and is an avid photographer, so I thought she needed some mitts that she can take pictures in!   Smiley

My friend Brianne likes wearing scarves, but she's constantly dragging them through paint and stuff, so she gets a funky buttoning neckwarmer.  I looooove this yarn, I had it left over from making a dread tam (which I wear despite my lack of dreads) .

There it is on my dressmaker's model, but the color shows up better in this one :

Thanks for looking! Smiley

Got another postcard!

Text says, "Getting a pap made me feel far more violated and judged than the abortion did."

I'm sorry to hear that Sad Thanks for sharing!

I've gotten three over the past few days.  Here they are!

The writing says, "I don't take a political stand because I'm ignorant and I have no idea what the heck is going on in Iraq or in the White House!"  I'm not sure anyone knows what's going on in the White House at this point.   Huh

Pardon my thumb in this next one, I had to hold it at an angle to avoid extreme glare.

And the back...

This was a great batch of cards, thank everyone for sharing!!!
