1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: HP Craftalong ~Summer Semester 2012~ *Join Anytime in the Semester!* on: July 10, 2012 09:51:06 PM
Class : Care of Magical Creatures
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: He was gooD Elf

So the geekery in my house just doesnt stop.  I felt that we needed something a little crazy so I crafted us a house elf.

Hes made of paper mache with bones made of tin foil duct tape and plastic shopping bags.
I mixed all of the flesh tones from your standard red, yellow, blue white and sepia acrylic paints. And put layers and layers to try and make him look more alive.  Then I sponged on tacky glue to make him look more fleshy and less paint-y.

But finally I individually seated  eyelashes .I really think thats what made him look real.
Now all he needs is a name

Any suggestions?

10  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Mr Frog on: January 30, 2009 08:12:23 PM
Its rare when i get an email from my sister. So when i got one with subject line " i need this now!!!!(please?)", i knew i had to try.

she sent me this link
http://chronicennui.typepad.com/Frog_hat.pdf

the hat was designed to fit a child 4-8 and well she's 24, and  has a big Irish head like me.

i used the pattern as a guide, but basically had to make it up as i went along.

i used Lambs Pride Bulky and size 9 needles

i hope you like. and tell me what you think
